Interesting news. Did not expect this in the final of the series. Well, as long as it finishes, though the wait will be hard for some.

I don't read Black Clover, but hearing the amount of stuff that happened in Tabata's personal life, I feel that this type of schedule works the best for him. I wish the same happened with Horikoshi as well.

Black Clover fans should seek D.Gray-man fans on how to deal with a three month wait.
Also, after seeing the rumor pop up on Twitter, I have to say shonen fans are the absolute worst that the anime community has to offer. They spared no sympathy for Tabata as they continued to mock him and his series. Shonen fans are the definite proof of the GIFT theory coming being real.

So that's why I saw people saying all the big series in WSJ were either leaving or ending.
Still isn't true of course, but glad I know what prompted that opinion to spread at least.

I am both. It's been maybe a couple of years since the last DGM volume came out in English. Waiting for the conclusion to BC will be long but hopefully it'll give the author the space he needs.

Don’t think it would, but this won’t have an effect on the licensing and the release of the physical volumes in the US, right?

Interesting to see that Jump's first real "traditional" fantasy series since Bastard!! also eventually moved over to quarterly serialization, as the same happened to Bastard!! from 1990 to 1996 when it moved over to the Jump Seasonal Specials.
But, hey, if that's what will work best for Tabata, then all the more power to him.

So is there any information on what this "personal situation" Tabata has? Maybe I've just been living under a rock but I haven't head anything regarding this till now. I've been reading the manga with each new release & aware that its ending but I find it quite weird that its changing magazines when its already so close to its end...

His wife had a surgery, he has a child to take care of, and the usual tight schedules that come from a weekly publication. You should look at some of his author comments to really see.

if you follow author comment for the last few months, here some spotlight
-his wife giving birth
-his dog and wife get sick so had to stay on hospital
-he himself had to get check up to make sure everything is ok.
-he also lament he can't be with his wife during hospital stay and can't even pick her up from hospital because he himself has to take care the kid and busy with work
so yeah.

Nah. The message at the end of the chapter mentions that the simulpub will continue on the Shonen Jump app/platform and MangaPlus, so I don't imagine anything will change with the physical volumes, besides a slightly updated copyright page.

So there's some inaccuracies here. Reading through his translated authors notes on Viz's website the timeline is more like this:
- Oct. 2022: Tabata's 3-year-old daughter catches a bad cold, and has to spend a week in the hospital
- The week his daughter is released from the hospital, Tabata has to have his wisdom teeth removed
- Nov. 2022: Black Clover misses 2 weeks due to Tabata's "sudden illness" according to the magazine
- Dec. 2022: Black Clover takes another 2-week break, this time due to "production circumstances. Shortly before this an author's comment mentions his family's dog getting sick, specifically mentions diarrhea
- May 2023: Tabata says in an author's comment that he's caught more colds in the past year than in the rest of his life
- June 2023: Tabata says his wife had to be admitted to the emergency room, mentions his mother-in-law came to help take care of their daughter
- A week later, he says his wife has been released, but not 100%
- July 2023: Tabata mentions that his wife can't have greasy foods due to her health issues, so she's "crying out over not being able to eat katsudon"
- August 2023: Tabata says his wife had surgery and successfully had her gallbladder removed, contextualizing the greasy food detail from before.
Note that this all came after Black Clover took a 3-month hiatus to purportedly prep for this final arc. To me this all suggests Tabata's making the right decision in prioritizing taking care of his family and his own health, while still working at a more manageable pace than the hectic pace of a weekly release.

I'm not a Black Clover fan, but it's great to see a popular manga author getting to prioritize health and family, even so close to the end of their series.

Probably not for a while now. The series ended because the manga needed time to get ahead. If they start up now, they have enough content for about two cours, maximum, before they need to stop again or start shoving in filler arcs. I definitely wouldn't be starting up a new anime series if the source material just transitioned to four chapters a year in the middle of the next and final arc.
