I like the cast. The headline makes it sound as if we didn't already know this show was getting an English dub.

That just leaves Urusei Yatsura next!

Cant believe HIDIVE have somehow got slower with there releases they used to be 6-8 weeks behind which was tolerable but now they are a whole season behind on there dubcasts since there first 2 fall ones started in the last week of freaking December and they still haven't even started Urusei Yatsura.
HIDIVE sucks ass for dub fans. Currently giving us 3 new dub episodes a week along with continually removing older content. |

I'm going to be honest, there is no need to complain about this. Sentai and HiDive simply do not have the infrastructure necessary to manage ridiculously fast turnaround times for dub productions the way Crunchyroll does, and fans should not try to hold them to that standard. Frankly, we should be glad we even get Dubcasts from them at all. Preparing dubs for home video is probably a lot easier and more efficient for them, but they still do their best to stream their dubs as soon as possible because that's apparently what people expect these days. Honestly, I prefer for them to take their time and do a good job, rather than implode in on themselves trying to keep up with CR. |

The fact that your giving them a pass on somehow getting slower then they where years ago and for years not investing in dubbing and even after the buyout solely focusing on new licenses while ditching older titles and still refusing to invest in there dub capacity is laughable to say the least. There not some small little indie studio that needs protecting or free passes and I never said they need to compete with CR be real and dont put words in peoples mouths. But a full season late on all 4 titles they confirmed would get dubcasts nearly 3 months ago is a joke from a dub fan perspective there not worth subbing to plain and simple. But whatever no real point arguing here, your just gonna call me impatient or something of that sort and continue to make excuses for there continuous years of lacking investment in there dubbing capacity and maintain older titles & catalogue items etc etc till it rains pigs outside. |

Compared to CR Sentai/HIDIVE is an indie studio. I honestly prefer them to license 10+ shows each season and dubbing 4-6 of those titles when they can rather than doing timely simuldubs. I want Sentai/HIDIVE to try to compete with Crunchyroll, but that is going to be tough.

Yeah, that's not what they said, at all. They said nothing about their library, just the speed at which they work. And they're right. Sentai doesn't have the infrastructure that CR has, and for you to argue that they were able to do something a few years ago...yeah. That's before Funimation and CR merged, before Sony took over the dubbing scene in Texas. They share an acting pool with CR, who's made it obvious they want to do as much anti-union work in Texas as they can now, which shrinks Sentai's pool considerably.
Yeah, tbh, I wish CR would slow down a bit and see what series were actually successful instead of committing to dub the trashiest isekai of every season while I wait for months to see if there's news about Bocchi or Do It Yourself! being dubbed. |
