Seems pretty silly to get all mad about a short clip from the show being uploaded. Literally every popular show gets random meme scenes uploaded to Youtube. If anything it shows people at least care about your show.

even at 1c per view via adsense, 5 million views in a week or two is a hefty chunk of change.

They should have planned for that then, instead of "Showing dismay" that someone uploaded the scene while showing complete ignorance of the whole Youtube scene. Its good they have a Youtube channel now, but if you introduce Hatsune Miku to your show, people are gonna wanna see clips of it lol.

People have been uploading random clips of Spy X Family (mostly Anya doing literally anything at all) since the show's release & I don't see the studio doing anything about it

Fans want to support and be creative with the things they enjoy! Drop kick is a good anime, with a fun voice cast.

First off, the anime staff has every right to want to monetize these clips. I don't blame them. Especially considering the fact this anime is largely crowd-funded now and probably has limited resources.
However, the hysterics of how "dismayed" they are while throwing around the word unauthorized makes me roll my eyes. Fans like uploading clips and it wasn't like the official channel was doing so already while fans "stole" views from them.
Would it hurt for them to show more humility? They could have an attitude more like:
"Seeing fan uploaded clips skyrocket in viewership made us realize we were missing a huge opportunity! Please watch the clips we will be uploading to the official channel if you want to support the series!"
The whole attitude they're giving feels tone deaf and desperate.

They don't have to be "pissed" about that, but at least they're doing the only right thing, uploading clips yourself faster than fans can do.
