Especially nice to see manga getting censored when important plot developments happen... Just publish a shorted version or so, ffs.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! I'll make sure to never give them a single dollar in my life! And to think they still act surprised when people pirate things instead!

No idea why they aren't publishing it, but an announcement like this is like putting it in red flashing crosshairs, it will appear fan-translated on aggregators within a day the Japanese version is out.
Haven't been reading this particular manga, but you bet I'm checking this one out once I can read it translated to know what all the hub bub is about ...

May one ask what happens in the 74th chapter that would make them skip the chapter altogether? Seems pretty drastic.

Lucy meets Rochka and gets a bit too close... If you know Yabuki you can think of the rest. Nothing out of the ordinary for the author, though - we have had chapters with imho "worse" fanservice. However, the final pages of said chapter also contain important plot developments so if they never adress what happened people will actually miss out.

I am so tired of publishers here being able to control what does or doesn't get published down to the chapter. The audience who reads this stuff know what they were in it for so please stop this crap.

I don't know what's been going on at Viz, but ever since around October or so, the way they've treated this series has just plummeted.
When the title first debuted, it was treated well in their lineup and was respected as the Weekly Jump title it was. However, once the digital volumes started releasing late last year, they have just been fumbling. At first there was their website glitch where Vol.2 was unable to be purchased on Viz.com for about a week after release, before they eventually fixed it. But then not long after that, they just pulled both volumes they released anyway. Quietly cancelling the releases with no explanation.
That was already a bad sign, but now here they are just skipping an entire chapter, which apparently has a pretty notable plot development too which many international readers are just going to miss out on.
It's absolutely ridiculous. A leading figure in the manga industry like Viz should not be treating one of their titles this way. And as someone who has diligently tried my best to support their releases of Ayakashi Triangle since its debut, I do feel particularly disrespected right now.

Rampant speculation is that Seven Seas is gearing up to pick up the digital and physical releases of the title and that's the reason Viz took down the digital volumes.

I've seen people speculating that as well, and while I'd love that to be the case and was even betting on it for a while myself, today's debacle with the removed chapter is giving me doubts...

Not surprised that both Viz and MangaPlus are shits. I feel like Viz is on conservative side, because they are apparently censoring fan service (and curse words) but they are OK on blood and gore.

Just don't use the service and pirate. It's plenty easy reading all forms of manga, raw/translated and official, all online. I support official releases of series I enjoy but when hearing about this it just sadly validates that pirating will always exist. Such a stupid move on Viz's end. When will companies understand that fans will never tolerate this.
Just don't pick up the series next time, better off.

Quote: | Update: Updated with Viz Media's comment.
The company did not give a reason why the chapter was skipped, but it confirmed that "Ayakashi Triangle Chapter 74 will not be published on Shonen Jump. |
I almost expected such a cowardly reply. This only reinforces the idea that Viz Media truly is the worst company in the industry.

This is honestly the truth. It's not just about accessibility to prevent piracy and scanlations, you as a publisher should have the respect to release the manga 1:1 or there's zero reason to support the official translation in anyway.

Yes. The hypocrisy!
Mass killings, violence, gore, physical abuse - all great stuff!
Any form of fan-service, vulgar language, or sexual act: butcher, liquidate and destroy any form of the series.
Never made any sense.

I know Viz didn't put a chapter of Chainsaw man on their app once but it was on their website and on mangaplus (app+website). Probably the first time a chapter isn't being translated anywhere as far as I can tell. Someone will probably scanlate it though
