Holy shit that's huge. Guess it will only have 7 chapters inside (which includes the latest 364 coming later this week of course), but I'll take it. Too bad the west most likely won't be getting the drama cd since we never do.
Since they're not being definite on it being the "last" chapter, I wonder what their plans are...

Vol. 40 also included just 7 chapters.Maybe they could include the original chapter 83 as an extra, but I guess that would be against Miura's wishes.

The fact that they won't call the new chapter the last but the "latest" gives me the feeling that Hakusensha is testing the waters to see if they can continue the series in some form with another author. If it were absolutely decided that they were going to end Berserk where Miura's work ceased, then I imagine they would have specified how many chapters remain to build anticipation.
If they do end up doing that, I wonder who they'll present the last chapter. Since Miura's death was sudden I imagine the last chapter is incomplete, so I wonder if they'd have someone else complete the chapter or if they'd publish it as-is, with the story simply ceasing on an unfinished page (similar to how The Adventures of Tintin ends.)

Miura did have a full team of assistants apparently, so I have no doubt that finished drawing the chapter from his storyboard or something.

Makoto Fukami again? Uff. One of the biggest hacks in the anime and manga world. Good to know that the last production team can´t even afford a single OVA episode. This confirms that the struggle is over. Rest in Piss Berserk Saga Project. 2012-2017. The new YA cover:

Maybe he had an ending already planned? Thats the only reason I could see it possibly continuing. Maybe they will try to fish for Morikawa from Hajime No Ippo, werent these two close friends? Regardless,Its still so sad, especially never getting the anime it truly deserved. Wit would have knocked it out of the park.
