Since FUNi's been streaming Aniplex titles and releasing them on home video at cheap prices now, I'm almost hoping that they re-release Natsume Yuujinchou seasons 1-4, along with 5 and 6, on Blu-Ray or something. I love the Natsume series and would love to own it all, dub or no.

I'm curious how the Scarlet Nexus anime fairs considering the inconsistent quality of video game anime adaptions. The game looks pretty cool though.

Naysayers be damned, I'm still waiting for FUNi to announce they're dubbing Dragon Maid S. Neutral

They’ve done that exactly once so far, with Demon Slayer season 1, and one example is hardly a pattern. And even some shows that Funimation dubbed in-house Aniplex released on expensive home video only.

Strange that the article states that Robotech streams this Summer, but it is currently scheduled to start streaming about a week after the start of Fall. Fall starts on September 22 and Robotech starts streaming on September 28.

Are the films free for streaming (at a later date, probably?) or behind a paywall for premium members only? Or has Funi not released that info yet? I wish there were more clarification about availability in these announcements.

It's not official but these shows are Funimation Exclusive so only thing that comes to my mind is that it's premium only.

It's a fairly big IP and will be getting a lot of attention as the first KyoAni show since the incident, so I'd imagine Funi will be highlighting it soon enough.

Will Funimation eventually stream the original Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada now that the licensing conflict has been mostly resolved? The subbed versions used to be streaming on Amazon Prime and Tubi but now they're not available anywhere. It would be nice to see the originals get an HD subbed release especially as the previous Macross subbed streams were not the best quality and were missing the opening theme song.

Unfortunately, this has no impact on the original JP versions of the shows, since Funimation isn't involved with the JP license holder, Big West or the company that owns Mospeada. Their only involvement is with Harmony Gold for Robotech. Big West decides what happens with their properties. Mospeada might be able to go through Tatsunoko, but I'm not sure if the other two actual companies involved with the production has more power over the IP. The announcement with Harmony Gold was also only about Big West properties, so who even knows about Mospeada actually being freed for a western release.

I thought it was the case that Harmony Gold and Tatsunoko have the rights to the original Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada, while Big West can only release any Macross titles past 1987 internationally, which puts the DYRL movie in a weird licensing limbo. If Harmony Gold now has the full rights to the original three series, it seems like theoretically that would include streaming the subtitled version of OG Macross through Mospeada, as they previously held streaming rights for them under their previous arrangement.
