I have seen episode one, so this sounds like a good review to me.

Aside from the clunky sand whale I think the animation is pretty decent for the most part. With the introduction of Lumachina this is where things start to get really interesting. I cant wait for when they reach the part of getting into Diablo's dungeon.

I am not okay with the chibification that they've laid on Rem. She was always (at least apparently) the cool, mature one of the initial pair. Now she looks and sounds like a wayward elementary school student.
I did find it interesting that they had to park Klem and her attendant to keep the harem down to manageable size.

So apparently this will only have 10 eps. I guess I can understand as this whole saga is basically comprised of smaller arcs. Even the LN vols are pretty short.

I can't get over the fact that they (almost) named their main villainess after a crippling hoof disease in horses.

Can someone clarify something for me? If I remember correctly Diablo didn't dive into his computer à la Freakazoid, he was summoned to a world that is just exactly like the one in his game. So if we assume that this world already existed before they summoned Diablo, how is it that his dungeon with a lot of his items also exists in it? Did it spawn in this world when he was summoned? Was it built by a version of Diablo already in this world? What would be the ramifications if Diablo injected his cathedral-sized room filled with gold into that world's economy? Am I reading too much into this?

While it hasn't been explained in the novels yet, it is suggested that the dungeon was probably summoned along with Diablo due to Horn explaining that it was discovered quite recently and Diablo was summoned fairly recently.

I think I am going to be that guy, and say that I was not entirely comfortable with how Horn was handled. I was quite liking the character, and finding out Horn's sex is female is not a problem, but being forced into a female presentation did not sit well with me, how they were expressing being uncomfortable forced into not only a skirt but a mini-skirt. It kind of just seemed Diablo found out their sex, was given an explanation of convenience, and he and the rest decided would be totally cool wearing female clothing because she is a girl.
Perhaps an unreasonable thought in my head, since this sort of show would totally not do it, but a maybe headcanon was that perhaps Horn was transmasculine, the characters did not really know otherwise. So it kind of seemed a bit off for the rest of the cast to suddenly decide to treat Horn like a girl now. As far as what was shown it was not like they checked if it was okay.
But we also got this episode with Diablo topless, so a win in other areas.

I can't be the only one who was not surprised at all with Horn being female, right? The only surprising thing was wondering why Diablo kept using "he" in the subs.
Did Diablo really have to drop his wand when swimming? Couldn't he put it in his belt or unequip it or something? Though the scythe was a good look lol
I'm usually one for fanservice and wouldn't usually make this comment, but Rem's new outfit is a bit much. Though totally in line for high level female armor

So, I've read pretty far into the LN series, as far as there are officially translated volumes at least, and its safe to say that Horn doesn't think of herself as a boy, or feel like a boy. As stated in this episode, she really only dressed and acted that way because of the age old problem of society making life a little easier for men, and since she was all on her own up until now, she adapted to survive.
As far as the change of clothes, I think anyone would be uncomfortable if they were used to wearing one type of clothing all the time and suddenly had a completely different type of clothing foisted upon them. Especially in this case when she was used to having that area covered up in shorts, but now it's all opened up in a miniskirt. Might have felt a bit embarrassing at least.

OK, so I will admit I didn't necessarilly pay THAT much attention to the dialogue in the first four episodes, but my first thought when I read this was "Wait... they thought she was male?" I honestly thought they knew she was a girl from the get-go.

Episode 6
Pay attention to the bowl Horn is carrying there at the beginning, the manga omitted it for some reason but it'll provide a lot kinds of fun later
Also, Diablo went a little wild there, those who remember the first season may remember Diablo's proneness for being ticked by certain 'things' in his former gamer life.
So far, probably the best episode of the second season for me.
Also, bless Kantoku for that illustration there at the end.

I really enjoyed watching Diablo go hammy beast mode on Varakness. I hope this gets a season 3.

A bugbear of mine in a lot of these types of series is that the protagonists tend to let the attractive scantily clad female characters live no matter what their crimes whilst mercilessly slaughtering any male characters. Something along those lines happened quite recently in another anime airing this season.
So I was actually quite pleased that Diablo didn't hold back when he was fighting women and killed them as readily as he killled Varakness.
How sexually attractive you are to someone shouldn't be the determinant of whether or not they let you live IMHO.

Except that Diablo has done just that last season. Remember Alicia, the cute knight who tried to get poor Klem to commit genocide? Yeah, she wasn't "scantily clad", but the point still stands.
That aside, am I the only one disappointed that neither Varakness nor Laminites told Diablo in the middle of the fight "but you came here with a bunch of women too"? They set up the joke but forgot the punchline.
