This manga started off incredibly mean but really found its groove going forward. Either way, I am 100% watching this show to see them animate those noodle arms on Nagatoro. They’re so omnipresent in the books they should be secondary characters.

I think you mean "Uzaki-chan is a Nagatoro-san-like anime". Nagatoro predates Uzaki by about half a decade. |

Comparing this with the audio drama released last November, it seems like Uesaka has taken the pitch of Nagatoro's voice down a couple of notches and it sounds a lot better for it.

I'm 1/4 of the way to forming a conspiracy theory that both can somehow trace a lineage to Kyon hand-wringing about finding Haruhi annoying but I don't actually care about these two at all so I'm not going to research this to confirm it |

If we're going that far back, we may as well declare Urusei Yatsura the Patient Zero in this case. |

Nagatoro-san is a saltier and spicier Teasing-master Takagi-san, as well. I didn't pay much attention to Uzaki-chan, though I suppose it fits. Urusei Yatsura (mentioned later in the thread) is, I think, a different thing, though I suppose it fits into the "not sure I want this attention (though really, I do)" scheme of these other titles. |

I really like the lighting and shading. It captures the manga's style pretty nicely. This is one of the shows I've been anticipating.

Funimation posted an article about the PV as well... Last time they did that for something they didn't have the rights to, was Log Horizon S3, just a couple weeks before they announced the simulcast rights...

Senpai sounds right, but Noodletoro sounds off to me. I'm sure I'll get used to it though. Should be fun to see this animated regardless

Doesn't look like they toned it down from the manga, which was the biggest reason why I dropped it first chapter.

She looks drunk as hell in that last image. Or is that just me?

Well, after Takagi-san season 2, they don't want to lose out on girls teasing boys anime... |

The manga tones it down from the manga. Recently I reread the first few chapters and I was surprised at how mean and malicious it was. Fortunately it takes a mellower turn about 4 chapters in with Nagatoro actually considering senpai's feeling and avoiding going too far.
Get ready for Nagatoro's insane face game. If the anime can keep up https://i.imgur.com/ZwulOV1.jpg |
