I found the characters and writing to be very good, but I didn't find the cons themselves too interesting. The background/scenery art was beautiful throughout and really stood out to me as I watched.
Looking forward to more with hopefully more thrilling capers |

That's a pretty common flaw for the genre. I just started reading "Moriarty the Patriot" and it suffers the same problem: interesting characters, unimaginative cases. You can see why Aoyama Gosho takes so many breaks for research! And, come to think of it, this may be why Lupin works so well: the more humorous tone allows for much more outlandish and fantastical scenarios to play out, that wouldn't be possible in a more grounded setting. |
