By searching the artist all I saw was that he drew some pretty bad hentai.
Indeed someone else should have taken care of this project.

Differences with the story huh? I know Tsuburaya is a lot more protective of their properties than say...Toei, so I wonder what those differences were.

I doubt we'll even get idea sketches regarding what direction this manga might have taken, although I would be pleased to be proven wrong. As others said above, it's a shame. When your character is a god who woke up from a kaijuu and mecha-filled dream into our 3D human world there's a lot to work with.

Given her role in the SSSS Gridman anime, I don't really think you could make anything significant as a spin-off, really, unless it's entirely fluff or fanservice. So I can't say I was excited for this at all, maybe the author can find something he can flex his creativity in better.
