Damnnnn Demon Slayer beat One Piece by farrr, this shows that even though I love One Piece its obvious Japan is getting bored of One Piece.

I don't think that Japan is getting bored of One Piece, it's still selling incredibly well despite being a 20+ yo series and only had 2 volumes released this past year. It's more that lots of people realized that Kimetsu no Yaiba is a great series and bought all or lots of the recent and past volumes, which there are lots of. Trendy series sell well, so it's no surprise there is a massive increase in volume sales..

It's nice to see it doing so well!

This is completely unrelated, and can't be compared at all.

Talk about a hilariously bad take.

Kimetsu no Yaiba is a massive juggernaut covering sales across its entire catalog while One Piece's sales are concentrated on its most recent releases (same as the past 5 years) and is still 2nd.

But no, obviously Japan's bored of One Piece . Rolling Eyes

Is this a miracle? I feel like this is some kind of miracle.

Demon Slayer with 45 mil? Never in a million years did I ever think anything would ever get close to the 37 mil that One Piece did in 2011, let alone beat it. And this is only halfway through the year! I know it ended, but with 3 volumes worth of uncollected chapters left (and volume 20 only being recently released) it may even double that by the end of the year. Add the movie boost on top of that (assuming it doesn't get delayed), it may even double what it currently has and sell over 90 mil! All this with some bookstores limiting purchases to one volume! Absolutely insane!

One Piece problem is that it's hard for new readers to get into the series. The sheer amount of volumes it have just turn casual fans away. Every franchise will eventually bleed some readers but they usually get more new readers. One Piece just can't recuperate it bleeding readers due to the lack of new readers.

Amazing that QuinQuin is so close to OP.

Those KNY numbers are kinda terrifying, but undoubtedly impressive. I just know Shueisha and affiliated license holders are not going to let the franchise rest now lol.
