Content warning: this manga can get pretty dark, violent and bloody, don’t get fooled by the cutesy cover, you are looking at something that is close to Happy Sugar Life in terms of psychological horror/murder thriller

Man, I really need to read more of this. I read chapter one when it first started and enjoyed the twist, but keep forgetting to read more...

Looseboy is pretty famous author of visual novels. People, who are interested in VNs have at least heard about G-Senjou no Maou; Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo and A-profile.

Saying that VN is bad because it is 18+ is like saying that shounen manga is bad because it has more than 5 volumes long.

well E-Hentai is shutting down by the end of 2020 so i assumed VNs were seen as despicable at large (i know there's non-sexy ones)
but on topic, i like the art of this anime/manga

Dude dont mix eroge with nukige, eroges haves sex scenes but in the majority as part of the plot, nukige that is a visual novel for Just pornograph ( and still have good ones).
And having sex scenes dont makes the plot bad ( depends on the use).

I came across the manga via Crunchyroll manga, and what a ride it's been! How you feel at the beginning may end up changing near the end. It's best to go in without knowing anything though, as it makes for the best experience. It feels like the manga is nearing the end (maybe?) and I sure hope whenever it does, that it ends well. Really look forward to the anime adaptation for this!
I had no idea that the writer worked on a bunch of VNs though, but that makes sense.

I gave up on reading the manga on Crunchyroll after 13 chapters. It just felt like the girl was killing some unsuspecting, friendly people with powers because she was told to. Yeah, someone was suspicious of her, but that wasn't enough to keep me interested. No one with powers had done anything to define them as humanity's enemies.
Or maybe they had, and I've long since forgotten. I got tired of watching her kick puppies.

I feel like this is where the series might lose a lot of people, is if they stop here without going forward.
As time goes on, she DOES have character development, to the point where she realizes that she has been manipulated for pretty much her entire life to train in this soldier-lifestyle. She's not the only one, either. Once she finally comes to this realization, is where she finally starts to become a more redeeming character. So if you drop it, you don't get to that point and just think "wow what a terrible protagonist" to "ok... I actually kinda, sorta feel bad for her..." Even the latest chapter has even more sad stuff. A lot of it comes down to being sort of like a political X-Men where these powers are feared and "what if we raise/manipulate soldiers to off these people, before those of us in power are offed?" is what it comes down to.
It really does get much deeper, but depends if you are willing to get further into the story and keep going.
