Let us hope that each season is at least 24 episodes
They might make 12 or 13 episodes for each season.

I'm so freaking happy that my favorite light novel series is getting so much love! It really shows how popular Shield Hero has gotten to where Crunchyroll can just outright announce two seasons at once which besides a few exceptions is almost unheard of in the anime industry. There's over 20 volumes of the light novels out in Japan so we're definitely not running out of source material anytime soon and I'm excited to finally see characters like Kizuna, Fohl, Atla, and Sadeena animated.

Oof.
Anyway, great news. Shield Hero was definitely one of the best shows of the year, and one of the most popular.

Usually when the last episode of a season bears the same name as the series it's pretty much guaranteed that another season would never see the light of day. Glad to see that it is not the case this time.

Fantastic news and the second season will introduce Kizuna the Hunting Hero.

The isekai genre is popular and a lot of people like it so it is just a small fraction of people that complain about it. As for Shield Hero the light novels gradually build up a vast fantasy world and the series often deals with morally complicated situations.

The story's concept is also atypical since (spoilers for the first couple episodes) since the main character ends up being framed and ostracized for crimes he didn't commit and understandably becomes a cynical anti-hero that has to resort to different methods to get stronger, gather allies, and survive. The characters are interesting in my opinion, I especially like Raftalia.

Man I had no idea we were supposed to relate to the slave owners like Idol that beat and murdered demi humans, I guess he was the true main character all along. Heck props to Shield Hero for having the guts to kill off its main protagonist in the first season. Raphtalia's tragic backstory was actually a proslavery propaganda piece all along too! How could I have I been so naive to believe the narrative was trying to make me feel disgusted by what happened to the demi-humans!
