At least we get a Final Fantasy for the X-Box...would've liked FF7, but we get what we can. Fun fact, I've never played a Final Fantasy game except Brave Exvius, due to the fact I never had a system to play them on until now. But I did keep up with the hype of some.

Why not play some of the other ones (such as FF7, as you mentioned) on the same platform you played Brave Exvius on? |

September? Hmmm...we'll see. Well, at least Squall will finally get to be the "best looking guy there". Yeah, I'm late to that meme but I never heard of it until a YT'ber mentioned it. After I looked it up I didn't imagine just how hilariously (sad) the joke was. How the hell did the developers not get that right the first time. I'm surprised they didn't try and do a remake for that game. Maybe one day but not now. So we get HD remasters for now. They should put FFIX on PS4 since they did remaster it for the Switch. But FF7 is getting a whole make over to cash in on that green. LOL!!

I'm guessing that youtuber was Spoony? Anyhow, you're looking at it backwards, the game was developed with CTR televisions in mind and not to get to technical but the crappy anti-alising they used, assuming no one would ever play that in anything but a CTR TV, completely ruins the picture when playing in a modern HDTV. You can get the intended look with emulation and the right settings/plugins and it looks much better. Squall looks like a trainwreck because you're not really supposed to see that much unfiltered detail in his face, which is also why "best looking guy" literally looks the same as everyone else: there's only 2 facial models in the game, one male, one female. |

??? Unless you're referring to FFVII Remake, classic FFVII is available to play on Xbox One... They even fixed the overhead world music glitch that to my knowledge hasn't yet been fixed for the PS4 version. Xbox One also has FFIX, FFX & FFX-2, FFXIII trilogy, and FFXV from the main Final Fantasy series. |

Yeah I haven't heard too many fans complaining about getting a remaster instead of a belated remake they bitch about constantly. |

You clearly haven't been on Final Fantasy's Facebook page, have you? The fans have been egging the company for years to re-release the original game in HD. They finally obliged. End of. |

Plus I don't see why FF8 fans, specifically, deserve more than this. What about FF5 or FF6 fans? They never got a real remaster or remake that wasn't a weird, sprite-filtered, made-for-mobile mess. FF9 also "only" got a remaster despite being a PS1-era game too, just like 8. A well-made remaster is honestly all that the game needs and all the fans "deserve". |

thats true...8 is my favorite FF and im overjoyed too be getting this, and as a fan of every ps1 era FFs , i personally didn't think 7 deserved a full remake either...objectively speaking 6 is the only one that deserves one, every aspect of that game would look insane with updated graphics, the espers/the opera scenes/the destruction of the world...etc |

Spoony? No no no. He's long been gone. Actually it's a more recent YT'ber. But yeah, again this was our first attempt at getting some real CG graphics. It's funny looking back at it now...yeah...it needs an upgrade now. It's funny how we look at things. Back then when the project was new no one really cared, but they knew if they could go a little further but know "next time". So here we are 20+ years later, looking back remember how bada$$ FF8 was and how harsh the graphics there. But even during that time and today it still holds a bit, but it needs some love. Good to know that there are graphic hounds out there that can fix the problem themselves before Square finally got around to it. |
