I'd heard rumors that Tokyopop managed to get exclusive rights to publish Gentosha titles, and this news makes that rumor look more and more likely, which sucks. There are some Gentosha titles I'd love to see and support in English, but not with Tokyopop behind them. I was satisfied with the anime of Yurikuma and wasn't impressed with what I'd seen about the manga, so I guess I'm lucky.

Not going with the infinitely better title Lesbears Uncensored, actual tragedy.

They just ceased publishing in North America. TP's overseas branches were and are still running.

I NEVER thought we'd get this. This will be a long, hard wait.

Thought that it was urahara at first.
Nice to see Tokyo pop getting back in the game.

Funny thing is that Alexis Tipton played main characters in both dubs.

Their US branch restarted publishing a while back. They did several Disney manga, and have licensed a couple series since then.

heck, I wouldn't take anything from Tokyopop even if they were giving it away after that fiasco when they shut down.

I love Yuri Kuma Arashi but my biggest fear is that they won't finish releasing it, so I might just wait until all of this is out in English before I decide to buy it.

Well, I was somewhat interested in this manga, but if Tokyopop's publishing it, no way.

I would be very interested in why Tokyopop has such a bad reputation in the USA. In the german-speaking countries we are quite happy with them and the manga they publish.

IIRC, Tokyopop in the EU was / is a Joint Venture with Bertlesmann. So having a serious old-school publisher involved made the difference in the quality of the product they produced. Here in the US they were a rolling disaster.
Now if Bertlesmann is involved in the Tokyopop US resurrection, and it isn't a Zombie film we are seeing start here, then this may be worthwhile. Have to wait and see.
