This is definitely a refreshing 2D animated music video from their usual CG animation! I'm really excited for the new single to come out and it's actually coming out on the same day as one of the character's birthday, Nagi!

Just like NO DOUBT, that was all out-of-character to the point of absurdity, but I teared up a little anyway. Seems like they're getting a lot more budget for these MVs lately.

I doubt these videos are meant to be "in-character", since they're actually produced as if i7 and Re:vale were real idols, doing a real conceptual MV. Especially NO DOUBT, since it's meant to be the opening song for a movie that Yuki stars in, and the MV reflects the world of the movie.

NO DOUBT was a theme song for the drama (or perhaps a it was a movie) Yuki was staring in (in the game's story) called Mission. Which is why it is the way it is. So they weren't exactly being themselves in the MV, they were acting.

Yes, I understand. I've cleared all three seasons of the main story. ("NO DOUBT" was the theme song for the movie Mission, which had Yuki as the lead and Yamato (not Momo) as the villain. ZOOL's Natsume also appeared in a supporting role.)
I'll translate my earlier post: the character disconnect is hilarious, and I absolutely love it, but unlike NO DOUBT, I wasn't so distracted laughing (and dancing) that I didn't also appreciate the story. I phrased my earlier post the way I did in case someone wandered in here not realizing that it's just an MV, not representative of the actual story. (Except maybe foreshadowing something for a certain not-Riku someone...)

What is up with these boys and airplanes?! *wipes tears* Must watch again.
It appears that I I have barely dipped my toe in the Idolish7 pool. I'm waist deep in Utapri, but I gotta check if I7 has ported the game in English. I did wonder, about an hour, if I7 had a game just like Utapri does. My phone's battery hates me.

No English version of the game, but if ANN's current ad frame is any indication, Bamco is probably trying to sell the franchise internationally through the anime instead. While this means you probably won't get to sink 80+ hours on the original (97%) fully-voiced visual novel insanity any time soon, the good news is that there's actually enough of a story that the anime didn't need to do an "anime original" storyline like the bulk of the idol game/mobile game "adaptations." As well as the discs have been selling, more seasons are practically a given, and the material is already there.
