No surprise really. He tweaked his style a little but those who have followed his works for years will notice similarities. Nevertheless he did a great job on the art

Not surprised
I saw someone say Oh Great on another news article and after looking at their art was like "yeah, that sounds about right"
Anyway, the pictures seem nice enough, albeit kind of generic for this sort of story, I feel. The action scenes should be pretty good. Wonder if the fanservice will be amped up

He strikes me as the best possible choice for doing a Bakemonogatari manga.

Amazing illustrator but... his storytelling is left more to be desired. I will say that watching his massive art improvement from the beginning of Tenjou Tenge all the way to end was a pleasure to see despite the messy plot.

I think his storytelling style is actually a good suit for Bakemonogatari.
I really wonder how he'll draw the action scenes. This might become something really good.

Well, while he may have to do some pretty drastic adaptive changes in some areas, I don't think what you are worrying about in regards to his writing is going to be much of an issue here. Unless he does decides to rewrite the whole story, he should be just fine.

Everyone seems to agree in his handling of action scenes. I personally think that his works are pretty stylish, if not too stylish that it lost its substance sometimes. While monogatari is a very stylish work in itself, I hope Oh Great could give more care to the drama/clever twist and turns/plot development to balance things out. As I think they were the core of monogatari series despite all its stylishness.

Oh no, I'm not worried about this manga adaptation since it appears he will only be illustrating it. I'm only addressing the series that he personally has written the story for.

I am actually really excited about this. I think he will be a perfect fit. His stylish designs mixed with his quirky narrative should Aline nicely with the source material. But that is assuming he does the story as well. I want be surprised if Isin-sensei handled the story himself. But I would actually prefer the former. I think Igure-sensei would handle the story nicely.
My only question would be to see how they handle all of the back and forth banter in the manga version. I understand to include as much as in the novels would be too much for a mamanga, but I hope it's not lost entirely. Imo, the back and forth between Araragi and each girl is the best part of the series.

Hmm?
I haven't seen Oh! Great working on anything substantial since Air Gear, which was pretty awesome in it's own right (sad that anime didn't do such a good job on the adaption).
His writing can be a bit spotty but his art work is always outstanding, easily one of the best artists in that regard.
