That’s odd. The cover doesn’t look any more remotely “adult” than many other light novel covers. Sucks for the author.

Yeah it doesn’t seem like “adult” and if it is all ages as the publisher indicated, the product itself doesn’t seem “adult” either. Even if it were, they should refuse to accept payment, or at least refund the money when they ban it. Their customer service also seems pretty poor, at least for advertising clients.

I defer to "they" when I'm unsure of the person's gender. Pen names are extremely common in the anime/manga/light novel industry even when a name is typically masculine or feminine. Mahiro is a unisex name on top of it, so I prefer to not just guess. |

I think a lot of people look at stuff like this and think "wow, Twitter sure is easily offended!" as if the CEO of Twitter goes through every image themselves or something.
It seems like yet another case of an automated system - not necessarily by computers, but probably just underpaid employees whose job it is to look at the ads and quickly evaluate them, who are going to get paid for evaluating more, not better. More reason not to use big aggregate sites owned by corporations, but people keep doing it anyway. |

Twitter has gotten feminist and their “Trust and Safety Council” includes a lengthy list of pro-censorship organizations. Granted I didn't expect Twitter to get this bad this quickly but plenty of people were predicting that this would happen. That this is the first light novel cover to get censored is amusing considering how tame it is but it certainly won't be the last if someone considered it to be adult content.

Not everyone is is from the USA. Even i, an English Major (not native), didn't know that people were using "they" nowadays and thought anyone who used it probably didn't know jack of grammar. I did question someone on Discord later on as to why they were using they..."you dissing gender neutral pronouns" spiel ensues and i stand corrected. Don't use them either way tbh, cause it triggers the living hell out of my brain. Takes a bit longer to ascertain the gender of the person in question, but i prefer to use the proper one than to have random "they"'s in the middle of a text. So yeah, probably an innocent question (or maybe not, what do i know... <.<). |

A Google Image Search of this title lead to a FB page posting some the in-novel pics. It's a harem, so "all-ages" isn't exactly correct.

As long as they ain't bonin and there are no nude images, don't see why it wouldn't be all ages. Harem-y content doesn't have to be mature if it's played for laughs or something like that. |

This cover looks bad, but I wouldn't call it "adult content" by any means. And even if it was, it's super shitty of twitter to still withdraw payment from the author's account after they decided to ban the image.

Sounds like it was worth the money.
Also, the author is the one paying for ads? I guess they can but seems a bit odd since the publisher makes more than the author from the sales. |
