Really happy to see this good news! I think they was able to make this movie/adaptation even better by learning their mistake of their UBW adaptation. Can't wait to see more good news from this movie!

I hope they remake the Fate route because I just want the Studio DEEN haters to stop whining about it!

While the movie has a very good start for an anime release over 128 theaters (which is very good for the few no. of screens), the multiplier is concerning compared to SAO. The last weekend reports, the sales are are estimated around 102M yen, and probably needed another 5-7 weeks on theatre to reach 2B Y mark. SAO earned around 1.375M Yen in same no of days despite tough competition like Doraemon(4.43B), La La Land(4.30B), Moana (5.17B), Sing(5.11B), Kong(2B) last legs of Your Name and In the Corner of the World during it's 5 week stint on the top charts (around 2B Yen in 5 weeks, another 500 M for the rest of its lifeline). F/SN:HF 1 is a commercial success, but the competition is lack luster.

Competition doesn't matter when otaku anime have dedicated fans and HF was released in October which is one of the weakest months in the box office and doesn't have extra holidays so it can benefit from them.

Congrats to Fate on 1 Billion. I wouldn't have expected anything less.
