I knew instantly by the art that this was from the author of Ristorante Paradisio. That anime is really close to my heart, but I've never read/watched any of Ono's other stuff. Any opinions on what would be a good place to start?

^There's Gente, which is like a prequel to Ristorante Paradiso, if you haven't read that yet.
I'd highly recommend that you check out House of Five Leaves, though. It's really, really, good, and all the volumes are available in English. It also has an anime, though I don't think it completely adapts the manga's story. Viz has a preview of the first chapter here. Unless you'd prefer to start with one of her one-volume series, I'd recommend you start there. Also, there's ACCA 13, which got an anime adaption this fall and whose manga is going to be released in English starting this fall. Though I'm not sure how good it is. |

Thanks for the suggestions! I haven't read the Ristorante Paradisio manga yet, just seen the anime, but I definitely plan to read both it and Gente in the future. Maybe I'll order them next time I do online shopping, since I'm not entirely sure they're still stocked anywhere else, at least in my area. I have heard good things about House of Five Leaves, too, so I'll check out that preview. |
