I was hoping Aura Battler Dunbine and Heavy Metal L-Gaim would get physical releases but them getting taken down so soon doesn't bode well. Dunbine is about to get a blu-ray release in Japan so I was hoping it would eventually get the same over here.

Weird that most of Sunrise's mecha shows are leaving, considering Bandai's stake in the company. Daisuki was well positioned to take advantage of Sunrise's tremendous back-catalogue.

The Gundam shows are available elsewhere, but its a shame L-Gaim, Dunbine & Vifam will be disappearing. Hopefully they'll show up on Crunchyroll or somewhere.

Weren't these particular Gundam show subscriber-only? I could be wrong, but the majority of the list seems to comprise of anime only for paid subscribers - so I guess that didn't work out for them?

I actually canceled my subscription over this as I mostly kept it current because it was what free Hulu was to me for years. A place where I'd find weird random stuff and watch it at my leisure with a lot of the older Mecha and Sunrise series.

Leaving I didn't really see much use in keeping it current still a great service but not I honestly feel like keeping up on. When I already pay for Crunchyroll, Anime Strike and now Hidive. And Crunchy Roll has Gundam Wing and Gundam Wing Endless Waltz to boot.

Yeah, I guess not. But since there was a business connection via Bandai, I'd hoped Daisuki would become Sunrise's go-to place for older shows, but I guess not.

Shame to see Dunbine and L-Gaim go so soon, hopefully someone can pick them up and give them a physical release.

I guess this means the aftermarket prices for the Dunbine Volume 11 and 12 DVDs are in no danger of dropping anytime soon.

I'm hoping the forthcoming release is the reason it's getting taken down. Hopefully we'll get the release here at some point. My set is woefully incomplete.

Daisuki's streaming player seemed not to cooperate with my OS and browser choices. The service is a credible and perhaps also commendable one, though I've enjoyed a more pleasant experience with Viewster and other smaller streaming providers.

I bought the series as it came out so I actually own the whole thing. I would still love it on blu-ray though.

There's a really cool short video of the original character designer doing some illustrations for the blu-ray boxes on http://www.dunbine.net

Nice! I bought it as a discount bundle on RS some time after it came out not realizing it was 10/12 instead of complete.

Thanks for the heads up about the video =)

Thats like their entire library Laughing

Its not really a good service cause I think they do not provide a ad free streaming option. I mean if I'm paying I expect 0 ads. I'll be sticking to Crunchyroll and HiDive thank you very much.
