This is the way of the world people. Just look at Hollywood, people, or businesses being blacklisted due to their religious or political affiliations. It's not against the law, but it's just plain unethical.

With Konami, this may have worked well for them before the Age of the Internet, but not anymore. They are effectively shooting themselves in the foot, especially given how they treated Hideo Kojima. He turned things around and making a company that's far more prosperous than Konami ever did. Even if they get hired overseas, these blacklisted individuals will recover. And I wouldn't be surprised to see the shoe ends up on the other foot. (Konami staff ending up being blacklisted, instead of those who were blacklisted).

I'm guessing that what I read last night was a translation of part of the referenced article, but it said that they're not even allowed to put Konami on their resume, either.

What the hell is wrong with Konami? (You know, besides everything.) This is effectively
akin to controlling other people's lives. They need to be shut down and just disappear.

This is just a reminder of how terrible of a company Konami has become in recent years. Whether they'll ever be able to return to their glory days of year's past is anyone's guess.

Which makes even more confused that Konami, after getting rid of Kojima and majority of its 3A-Gaming development team, end up enjoying a significant increase in profits and stock performance in last two quarters, yeah, I know they are huge in gambling machines and trading card games, but HOW?! Does transition of focusing on mobile gaming help that much?

Either way, Konami got some serious PR to take care of

I didn't know that... Sad to hear they are somehow doing well after all the shitty stuff they've done (by which I mean more things like this article is about rather than wahhh they aren't making the game I want). They've basically quite AAA game development anyway so why are they cockblocking people who still want to do it...

What a coincidence, I just threw out my Yu-Gi-Oh! cards today. What a spiteful company. It's a good things that they don't produce any games that I like.

can Konami just go bankrupt and collapse already, then a decent company might be able to get their IP's and actually do something with them
I was actually anticipating Sony announcing the acquirement of Konami IPs at E3 this year. It would not have surprised me one bit if Sony had bought Silent Hill, Metal Gear, and Castlevania off of Konami . . . hell, or if they'd just bought Konami.

I wouldn't put this kind of stuff past Konami, but isn't Nikkei pretty unreliable? I mean, if there are multiple sources on this or they admit, that's that.
