^The real one's in Shinjuku, so I'm afraid that was a bit of creative geography on the show's part. Unless they're implying that someone had built a perfect replica of the pool in Akiba.

Strip fighter V.
That was some intense training he had to go through. |

Well it kind of started in the episode as a niche in retro games, before seeming to do specifically Street Fighter. I had a friend who specifically was getting into the Street Fighter crowd, with the whole arcade game controller and some in depth knowledge of the characters. Fighting games might seem like not a niche, but when you look at the actual pros, it could be the difference between just wanting a good radio and obsessing over all the other audio things. This might be looking way too deep into it, but might there have been a little Kill la Kill reference with the gamer girl? Her hair style looked like Ryuko, she got stronger from taking clothes off, and her preferred character was "Ryu" like "Ryuko"? Probably am looking too far, but it kind of came to mind when clothes started to get removed. |

Actually, I believe much of this episode (and arguably, the show overall, considering the similar artstyle) was inspired by Arcade Gamer Fubuki, a thing almost no one remembers:
They fly into the air and play arcade games lightning fast in that position while descending so you can get a look at their underpants, naturally. |

well, fighting games are a niceh nowadays, at least compared to both the real AA/popular games and to how popular they were in the 90s.
the training montage having nothing to do with how fighting games are played was easily the worse part of the episode and ruins it temathically. afaik, the guile chaarcter is a reference to yoshinori ono, the sf4/5 producer who also does cosplay while in events, while the girl seemed to be a female version daigo, a sf pro player. and in a blink and miss moment, the culprit was revealed in this frame. |

I dropped it. As to why, it is consistently the last show I wind up watching per week, and I struggle to remember what is supposed to be about and what I saw in the previous episode. It's not bad: it's just not good.

I am finding fun in the increasingly ridiculous outfits/costumes. Arisa was walking around in a full on teddy bear costume like it was completely normal. and later was dressed as a Grey with two government agent prop toys. His sister too keeps changing into various costumes.

So far, how good do you find this series? Or is a bad one? Because the references to pop culture call my attention.

I find this series surprisingly good. I say "surprisingly" because based on the first episode which I found merely okay, I didn't have huge hopes for the show. However, what I didn't know at the time is that the real juice of the show is that it is a loving spoof of otaku culture, specifically through the prism of Akibahara. They've spoofed stuff like military otaku, audiophiles, and most recently battle card games. They also spoof things like the Japanese work ethic (while also dealiing with maid/butler cafes). The jokes are never cheap, throwaway digs, but usually very clever observations of otaku culture. It's worth checking out.

I am enjoying how enjoyable it is for being bad or not taking it self seriously. That Yu-Gi-Oh! parody was brilliant. I would like to see an actual game version. |

*is and I like how the implications of mayo's lifespan fit well wiht the scene about akiba's history in the very start of the series (about how long has akiba been around) |

The premise for this episode was so stupid and just another instance of anime stupid logic. The main piece of evidence incriminating them is a picture in which none of them look similar and the only one who looks similar has her hair colours flipped. Not a single person points this out. None of her friends who see her every day not even her. How do you not know what your own hair looks like.
It is not even the fact the court did not notice, but the fact that none of them brought it up for it to get shot down by some hilariously flimsy excuse. Just another example of how this show continually only reach half way to what it could be. |
