Well, there is still so much story to cover (there is much more adventures with time warping and time travel) and I can remain optimistic about this. But, truthfully speaking it seems like a ploy to get people to buy the current adaptions with some new trinkets.

It wouldn't be a great anniversary celebration for Haruhi if the website didn't disappear every now and then... That said, with so much time passed, I wonder if Season 3 of the show will ever happen...

^ I'm sure FMP will be great but I honestly can't trust anyone that isn't KyoAni with Haruhi.

... or can trust Kyoto Ani with Haruhi. Kind of a "no one else can do it/ they don't really want to do it and it shows" situation. And while I can easily imagine KyoAni wanting to do another Haruhi movie, there's nothing big or maybe grand enough left in the book series to support it; Most anime shows can do a LN in 2-4 episodes but Sigh was 5, Melancholy 6 and Disappearance a probable 7 if not 8. The rest of the series reads like a three parter to me and that's being generous. This series was dense in the early volumes and ripe for even further elaboration... not the Endless 8 style but asides and interjections and digressions and other POVs... |

Kadokawa continues to do this every year since 2006. It's not a sign of any news. They also produce a random "summer activities" checklist portion of the site every August 16-31 with a "final loop" version each September 1st-some date.
There's nothing indicating any news as the last few years haven't produced anything. It's just a cute thing; nothing new is coming. |

The date in the book. The book. The book The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, on which the film was based. Come on.

Have you read Dissociation and Surprise? Those two (or three depending on whether you count Surprise as two volumes) books tell a single huge story which could easily be stretched out over two (possibly three, depending on length) films. |

Incredibly amusingly, when I clicked to come to the thread I got one of these on the first try.

Odd, the hidden message I got was ' そんなの、ハルヒ以外に誰がいるんだ' which is something like "Who else is there other than Haruhi?" There's also a hidden image when you point your mouse over it. Can't remember if that's the same as past years..

Upon clicking the link, I got message that reads "www.haruhi.tv という名前のサーバが見つかりませんでした。 (We could not find a server named 'www.haruhi.tv'.)"...

I wouldn't be surprised a new Haruhi project is coming up. Aya Hirano has recently been commenting on the 10th anniversary and seemed to be dropping hints about being involved in a new project.

Considering how much material is left in the novels, I still have high hopes for a S3 eventually.
