They said there would be no pachinko, pachislot or BD-box, si it had to be the next two most disappointing possibilities: themed cafe and an exhibition.

Well, the announcement said cafe, exhibition, and a "new product". But this really doesn't deliver the goods. What a joke this makes their teasing. An announcement that there will be an announcement that something will be made, to be identified later. |

This is some of the vaguest marketing I've ever seen in my life. First they completely and deliberately get our hopes up with that "not pachinko, mobile game, BD release" tease, only for the announcement to turn out to be another announcement? If it's not at least an OVA after all this, Gainax is almost completely dead to me.

Well I didn't expect a Cafe... it will be raunchier than any cafe I've ever heard of, no doubt... but us in the US won't benefit from that
Very weird the way Gainax is doing this; I think they're still "testing the waters". They know they have this IP that has a cult following but they don't know how popular it really is... meanwhile they don't have the original creators anymore... so they're putting feelers out there, to see how much to invest in a Season 2. (dear Gainax: invest everything) |

When I saw the title I was like: Is that... it? Thankfully not. I hope it's another season, but to be honest I'd rather it be just more episodes taking place before the end of the series and not a continuation.

I've decided that if there is to be a Panty + Stocking season 2, then Donald Trump needs to be the final boss. Though Daten City is by no means part of our world, it's such an obvious parallel of American Life that there has to be a Trump-equivalent in there somewhere, and Panty and Stocking really should kick his ass. Who's with me?
