I still have my PSP version so it's no big deal. 2 still remains the best in the series, and 5 is easily the worse. It's a shame newer gamers wont be able to play the series' roots, though.

I'd just be happy if they released 1/2 psp and 3 ps2 versions on the PSN for the psp/vita/pstv and ps3 or 4.

Yep the Anime is based off the first disc of the game. so only part of the story. |

It's a terrible anime adaptation of the equally bad EX manga, which does its own thing. Completely craps in the face of the game's canon.
No, that's incorrect. It's based off the Star Ocean EX manga, which took a different and much more awful approach to the game's story. |

Since the Ocean Group is also located there, they should get some of the anime dub cast to be extras. Since the movie could bomb because of the whitewashing, at least cameos could be a saving grace.
