I know nothing about this title, but with all those big seiyuu in it, it seems to me like this could be the big otaku show for Summer. Also, Silver Link is one of my favorite studios, and I hope they do a good job.

100% Lantis x Media Factory casting. It looks like they just got every big name idol seiyuu out there and just went "yeah you're playing this character, don't like it tough cause we really just need you for the albums and publicity" which is pretty common for these card game or mobage commercials. I remember roughly the same thing happened with Luck and Logic another Lantis music and voice casting sponsored endeavor. The writer for this show is Katsuhiko Takayama (If you can call him a writer so much as an industry plugger or stand in for production committees) who has proven himself to be horrendously incompetent so this is probably yet another one counting on big names, cute girls and music rather than the show itself to carry the day. I'm sure people will be professing their utmost "Hype" for this show with the recent cast announcements but having popular people in your show doesn't make it good.

Might be fun, it seems like only time will tell.

I think a lot of your concerns and possible red flags with this show have some very possible valid points, and I'll take them into consideration when going into the show. However I raise my eyebrow at you saying "yet another one counting on big names, cute girls, and music, rather than the show itself to carry the day", in my opinion there are good shows with cute girls and music and some I'm well not a fan of personally. I love the the 2011 IdolMaster series, and I personally didn't care for Cinderella project. The 2011 IdolMaster in my opinion at had fun music and lovable characters that I all around had a good time with, Cinderella Project I just couldn't get into the cast and themes of personally. Also heck I had fun with "Show By Rock" last year. Sorry if I got a bit off track there, I just thought I'd expand on some of my thoughts on cute girls and music anime.

I notice people don't know the fact that Ange Vierge card game is in fact an online card game released in 2014, and those cards feature some big VA's, and these VA's are just reused for this anime.

Honest truth is I've just kind of grown half indifferent to this whole anime thing lately. I'm mainly sticking around this year to see if anything possibly catches my eye for a TV season but regardless I'm sitting 2017 and I'm not holding my breath on 2016 either. It just feels like nobody wants to take making a good show with not obnoxious characters seriously anymore and like seasonal anime is just a turnover of special appeals and marketing of products that really have nothing to do with running a memorable show. The excitement or hype as it were that seems to very easily come to a lot of people is just kind of elusive to me. I don't know if it's just a symptom of growing older, changing how I look at things or newer viewers just being way easier to impress so it seems like I'm always playing this skeptic or vaguely interested party role but it's just a boring time to be an anime fan IMO and that's probably reflected in a lot of my commentary.

Probably a lot of what it is just way too many similar types of shows and ideas that strike me as just well....increasingly bland and again built around special appeals like having this voice actor or that guy that worked on that hit visual novel or niconico video series I've usually never heard of (I don't really follow that scene that has apparently become crucial to keeping TV anime afloat now) coming out far too close to each other lately. I don't even necessarily dislike music anime or attractive designs, they just can't carry a show for me or frankly what seems like an entire medium of late. I just think I've grown weary of a lot of trends in anime over the last couple years and again feel like the industry and fanbase just kind of takes everything for granted now and is more than satisfied with the status quo of just repackaging things as multi media marketing schemes and willing to say "I'll watch this show just because it contains x person or trope".

Granted this is so much less of a problem when I'm playing a video game or reading a graphic novel or something because in the former case I'm interacting with something and deriving entertainment that way or picking my pace with something that usually has a lot higher art quality than anime and often gets to the bloody point faster without wasting episodes at a time due to lack of inspiration and making me feel insulted in the process. One chapter of manga also takes maybe 5 minutes to read whereas an episode of anime is something like 24 so if you get a few dud chapters in a row that's maybe 10-15 minutes of your time gone, but if you get a few of anime in a row (which frankly happens a lot) and you're watching that show as it airs that's roughly an hour of your time gone and over the course of a week. I guess what I'm saying is sometimes I wonder why they don't just leave these games or music things instead of wasting programming time and money on a glorified 12 episode commercial that's probably going to make for a crappy clusterfuck show anyway cause it wasn't really designed for that format to being with. It'd make more sense if it was for children where you could kind of get away with slipshod writing and production values to sell a product or toy to a kid but it's clearly not.

Anyway I'm not angry or upset or anything if I appear that way, just kind of weary. There was an exciting trailer for me today for something so that's a plus, but of course it's for an OVA.

This anime is just used mainly for advertisement purposes. This anime is not made to have a great story, but if this anime has a nice story, then it's a lucky bonus. This anime is not intended to have a story in the first place, only merchandizing cute girls, cute music, and selling their mobile game. I really hate hearing people complain about the story when not all anime shows are made specifically to have a story.
Even though IMO you are right about the cute girls and music, I don't think you're right about the big names. This most probably crappy anime is adapted from a online mobile card game that was released in Nov-Dec 2014. Except from some cards, every card features huge number of VA's. Some are A-class and some are F-class. And this anime only reuses the VA's used in the game. That's why you will see the name of Kana Hanazawa, then see a name of Rie Takahashi, and then the name of Mai Ishihara.
L.I.N.K.s (the performer of their music which didn't even contain any big name) was already established at that time. I guess Mai Ishihara and Yoshiko Ikuta are big names if I follow that big name logic. And Yuka Aisaka and Rie Takahashi just got relatively popular recently.
Also don't forget this cast announcement is a second wave, which most probably mean the story is not centered to the characters they voiced.

I don't want to over quote here and that was a very long post, so I'll just say my message is mostly directed at "Alabaster Spectrum".
So I can understand where you're coming from to a degree, I know a lot of friends that have been increasingly thinking like you do. I've watched Anime since the 90s and even gone back and watched some shows older then that, and I still find my self watching tons of new shows every year of varying degrees of quality, for me I just really love anime and watching a good mix from anime I hate all the way up to anime I love, just the contrast between how every show makes me feel is apart of the anime experience for me. I find this conversation coming up with people often lately and I'm honestly kind of fascinated by it, the way I look at it is a lot of anime are really good these days, and a lot of it not very good, we have so much variety for people to pick and choose from and it's all honestly subjective. A lot of people tend to look back to an older show and view it as the best thing to have have ever been made and nothing for some reason is able to top that show, or even just a couple shows from awhile back, it's such a heavy nostalgia period for a lot of people I talk to lately. It's fine if you're not a fan of music based anime because there are tons of different anime every season, just don't watch it if you don't want to and try other things. My best advice is if you have the spare time and something even slightly catches your eye give it a chance, and sometimes just let your self enjoy something simple. I think two of the worst things people are doing these is days being overly cynical and generalizing, and they are not giving a new show a chance because it reminds them of an older show they didn't like, when the new show could actually really surprise them and be a very enjoyable experience.
I might be naive to think a lot of shows these days aren't necessarily made to sell toys and merchandise, I know some are but even then those shows can still be well made or just fun, and the merchandise is sometimes simply a big thing because there is enough market and demand to support it, popularity isn't necessarily a bad thing.
I do know some shows aren't made with a ton of heart and love and that can be discouraging, but I don't think people like yourself should let that discourage you because there are still a good amount of shows made with a ton of love and heart, projects that you know just by watching that the creators put their all into it.
I'll just finish by saying I do find conversations like this to give me some heartache, I know people are always changing and so is the anime industry, but I just hope people like yourself are able to open up their hearts to even a couple of new shows once in awhile. If you aren't able to that's fine there's no reason to attempt forcing yourself to enjoy them, however if anything I'd just appreciate it if people who don't care for new anime didn't look down on all the new shows and those who enjoy them, simply smile and wish new shows and fans of them the best.
