@Sarukah the show hasn't even aired yet, on account of the recent earthquakes.

ANN reported this and one other show (cant remember what) not airing, but said shows actually did air. I've seen the screencaps and plenty of first impression posts from different people being posted. Confirmation on airing from their twitter

Good luck with that, no one has subbed it yet and I dont think theres been any interest.

Now that it's known netflix has it, I'm sure it will be subbed.

Well, I have yet another anime to add to my list. I enjoy seeing more *NEW* anime streaming online through Netflix, hulu, etc. Surprised

I JUST finished the OVA yesterday and am very excited to hear this news today! What interests me the most is the encounters of Jafar and Sinbad. The end of the OVA left me hopeful for more of their storyline and viola -here we go!

I do wish they would continue the Magi series, but I am super grateful for this prequel!

Looks like I wont be watching this, good thing I had low hopes for it anyway.
But netflix licensing shows is really getting annoying.

I really don't get this line of thinking. Ignoring that Netflix shows eventually come to disc format, how is acquiring anime on the biggest on demand service in the country, and exposing it to millions who would otherwise ignore it a bad thing? Would anyone give a damn about Seven Deadly Sins or Knights of Sidonia if they were DVD/Blu Ray only releases or slumming it at 2:30am on Toonami next to One Piece?

Becease I prefer to watch it in the same week it comes out.
I'm also not American, by the way. So not sure how it being exposed to them would improve my viewing pleasure.

The earthquakes pre-empted Magi: Adventure of Sinbad's scheduled TBS broadcast premiere last Saturday, although it did eventually run on the BS-TBS satellite channel.

Actually Aniplex holds the license for the first series so expect them to do the same for this one. That being said, Netflix only has the streaming rights; home media rights have to be held by another company. And we all know Aniplex's prices.

Meanwhile, this is actually kind of a surprise. I knew Aniplex has quite a few deals with Netflix, probably in response to the success of The Seven Deadly Sins, but since the original was not originally through there this is a cool surprise.
We actually don't know for sure if Aniplex has international rights for The Seven Deadly Sins (doesn't help apparently it's not out ANYWHERE in the world, even places where anime actually sells). It could very well be Kodansha or even Dentsu. Just because Aniplex is on the production committee does not mean they have international rights every single time. Shows like Terror in Resonance, Love Lab, Kiznaiver (CR lists ABC Asahi as the publisher, though CR themselves are on the production committee) and The Perfect Insider show this.

I used to have Netflix, but found myself watching more and more anime shows through Crunchyroll and Funimation. Finally dropped my Netflix subscription over two years ago. There are some episodic comedy series I'd like to catch up on, but I don't really miss it.

I think the possible extra exposure potential for anime on more mainstream sites is a good thing, but I wish these "exclusive deals" would be with the sites that cater to anime fans. *sigh* Looks like I'll have to wait until the entire season is out. Then I'll set aside some time, take advantage of my free-offer to restart my Netflix subscription, and then binge watch the show.

I am really less sympathetic with companies complaining of copyright infringement when they have the opportunity to stream something globally yet something is holding it back. I think sometimes it's not a rights issue but more of a licensing thing akin to Hollywood Accounting.

Worldwide? Really? WORLDWIDE? Even for my little country which CR neglects and Funimation blocks? ;A; This truly is a revolution...
