Kawamori mostly collaborates and co-directs with somebody else. Is he going to do this one himself?

I wonder if it'll be a straight up Mecha?

Surprised we haven't heard word about a new Macross though.

That’s what I was hoping he’d mention at AX. Last year they announced that a new Macross anime was in the works, but I have yet to see anything else about it. Maybe he’s saving it for Anime NYC at the end of August.

He did mention the new Macross anime at Sunrise during his Q&A panel, but only to confirm it is still in the works. He added that he makes a point of making each Macross project completely different from the previous ones, so he and the staff are exploring how to do just that.
