Looks like this could be another one of those shows that has to finish up at a later date though knowing WIT they're gonna need all the extra production time they can get and even one week can be huge in this rapid fire wall to wall scheduled industry. I guess it also kind of forces noitaminA back down to being an 11 episode block in a way.

You kinda sound like it was WIT's fault that it got delayed. And I'm pretty sure thay the TV station will manage to air the 12th episode normally. It was "their" (well the earthquake's really) fault.
It was because of an earthquake in Kumamoto Prefecture. |

I will clearify this issue:
Due to you-already-know reasons, despite Amazon has the global exclusive streaming rights for Kabaneri, they were worried that such exclusivity might not work in China (mainland and Taiwan) and Chinese buy anime simulcasting license for GREAT prices every season anyways, so they sold the streaming rights to most big streaming sites in China: Tudou/Youku, Bilibili, PPTV etc. And this happened: while most streaming sites decide to wait and withhold the streaming of ep 2 this week until further notice, Tudou/Youku released the ep 2 in HD with subs as normal schedule, they quickly realized the error and took it down, unfortunately some jerks already saved the file and uploaded to download and Torrent sites worldwide. Tudou realeasd a written apology hours later but too late for that. The bad: Show is delayed, might be cut by one episode or we'd have to wait 3 months for last episode.
The good: WIT gets a break on production, and we might get higher quality in the end. |
