My God, that has to be the funniest thing I've ever heard in my entire life. It might be because I'm tired, but my stomach hurts from the laughter.
I'm almost tempted to go watch this....Maybe at a party or something x)

It's stuff like that which makes me understand why some people hate dubs.
That was the worst dub I have every heard in my 8 years of anime.

Pointing to Garzey's Wing and saying "This is why some people hate dubs" is like pointing to Monster A-Go-Go or Plan 9 From Outer Space and saying "this is why some people hate movies".

LOL. My thoughts: get rid of the damn necklace.
That was so funny- and to think I almost bought that garbage awhile ago for full price.
I'll see if I can find it for $5. it'd be great to see the whole thing.
The horrible dub/plot reminds me of this old ova I got on a trailer disc. It's called Gemma Wars. I think this might top that.

LOL...wow. That looks, like, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians bad. I particularly love the exchange that starts with "Oh my God, I felt like I was having a dream!" and with Byston Well!Chris breaking into his Earthly counterpart's thoughts of Zen with "I'M BEING CHASED BY A REAL ARMY!" ('This is no time for spiritual thoughts, you dolt! I could get killed! Don't send me positive waves, send me a weapon or something!!')
...I might just have to find this DVD. If only for the laughs.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the highlights reel! I'm out of breath from laughter.

"Almost tempted?" Man, I'm already sold. I already own Plan 9 so this DVD won't feel too out of place in my collection.

Oh wow. Garzey's Wing was one of the first anime vhs I bought, back in 1998 (alongside with Ghost in the Shell, Plastic Little, Ninja Scroll and Wicked City). It really was crazy and confusing as hell and I wasn't sure if the Japanese dialogue was bad or just the Finnish subtitles (apparently both). Well, my anime library was really small back then so I rewatched it several times and tried to make some sense out of it, but in the end it was just better not to think too much about all the weirdness that was going on.
It's a shame, because I kinda liked the world of Byston Well and the little "strategic" approach to the battles, but the story that foreshadowed an epic journey just ends...
Anyway, good and weird times. I'm not sure if I could watch it today, though, maybe purely for nostagia's sake.

It was the duck that did it for me. And, my god, that was a pretty bad dub, but it was funny I'm not gonna lie.

I picked this up on VHS when it was first released in the US and it has sat on the top of my "worst anime ever" list ever since. I think my favorite part to hate is how they kill off bad guys by dropping rocks on them. That will forever sit with me as the most uninspired way to kill off characters in a story (and ironically I was just thinking about this earlier after seeing a similar situation take place in the abysmal Death of Superman cartoon).

That was hysterical! BTW, I think the duck was suppose to be a swan but who can really tell seeing it was drawn so poorly
