>The Girls und Panzer film has sold 622,610 tickets for 906,915,824 yen (about US$7,724,356) as of January 14, 55 days after the film opened in theaters.
It is actually 909,615,824 yen.
9億961万5824円 = (9 * 100,000,000) + (961 * 10,000) + 5,824 yen

Cool that they are giving pieces of film to the movie goers. If I lived in Japan I would go to watch that just for the pieces of film.

Considering it only has 90 million or so yen to go and is getting a film strip bonus it looks like it's going to pass the billion mark, pretty crazy stuff considering I don't think the theater count is especially high and it's a pretty upstart franchise still, though maybe not anymore.

With this doing so well, would that mean we could see a second season of the show? I had fun with it and could definitely look foward to seeing the movie and more of the show.
