Film sold 622,610 tickets as of Thursday, 55 days after opening on November 21
The Girls und Panzer film has sold 622,610 tickets for 906,915,824 yen (about US$7,724,356) as of January 14, 55 days after the film opened in theaters. The film had sold 548,583 tickets for over 800 million yen (about US$7 million) as of January 6.
The film opened on November 21 in 32 theaters, and it is now playing in 91 theaters. The film had sold a total of 364,781 tickets for 539,435,450 yen (US$4,466,500) as of December 13, 23 days after it opened.
From January 30 through February 5, theaters that are screening the film will distribute limited pieces of frames of film for filmgoers. Each filmgoer will get two sets of film, with each film featuring four frames.
