If Anybody still suggest that if a series does not sell well...it won't have a second season just look at this...Even if a series sells bad if it is successful in other departments it will get more anime.
As an Example...Assasination Classrom....Tokyo Ghoul...Food Wars and Terraformers all of them had poor sales and yet were still a successful media franchise cause of high sales in manga..LN...Figures...Merchandise etc...they got more anime adaptations.
Looks Seraph of the End made it in the top 30....so there is still hope for a S3...but it will still need a couple of years to allow the manga to get ahead.

Rather than wait for enough manga material I think we might get an adaptation of the LNs of the franchise, about Guren and Mahiru. Those also seem fairly successful.
I've read that streaming money is quite considerable for anime nowadays, so I wonder when (if ever) lists like these will start counting those. It'd be interesting to see.

Surprising that Haikyuu is the second biggest WSJ title, though I suppose OPM hype didn't hit maximum until the end of the year, so we won't see the full effect of that until the 2016 list.

No, you found the guy who read the article before you did.
It originally said "It includes the raw unit totals."
Click on "change history" at the bottom of the article.
I was going to ask about that myself.
I am still curious about the two dots.
I had assumed that they meant that there were two different releases of that type, but I see no indication anywhere that Detective Conan has two manga series.

If an anime bombs with disc sales and doesn't push sales of it's media then it will not get a sequel. When 20+ new anime start every 3 months plus all the ongoing anime the fact that only 30 anime with franchise media added broke $17 million in a whole year that's terrifying for the industry especially as this is revenue not profit.

What happened with Charabiz Data? Since 2012 we stopped getting the values of anime franchise goods.

I think it's the area of the biggest sales or something similar? Titles like One Piece, Attack On Titan & Kingdom have two dots in manga while Love Live! & Fast and Furious have two in home video.
