hi.. i just signed up to this forum yesterday and im a big fan of one piece..
i made another thread already concering this anime.. but it was locked due to being "non discriptive" anyway that was my fault as it was a rule on this forum.. i just wanted to discuss the anime with fellows fans.. (not the dub.. the sub) to me id say it really is the best anime out there.. the content, the storyline, the plot, the characters, the uniqueness, hell i really like the background music.. the anime to me is really unique and ingenius.. pure creativity to say it. uve got typical animes.. like the ninja type.. the fighting type.. super powers.. but suddenly out of nowhere u got pirates pursuing there dreams and fighting for there nakama. currently im on episode 319 and waiting for 320.. and i DO hope the series really doesnt end until 2000 episodes lol  once i really like a series i dotn want it to end..
well.. lets discuss the anime

Yeah,Onepiece is one of my Fav too,but it's a shame that most people are turned off by this series because of Oda's unique cartoony animation which is very different from most Bishounen/Bishoujo drawn animes.
but anyway,to discuss the current episodes, Yeah, I'm currently on the Ennies Lobby arc on the Water 7 saga on the Part with Nami's fight with the bubble user Kalifa which Lasts from episode 293 t0 episode 296 which I beleive. (love Nami's outfit from the Water 7 arc ), and yes her Power's from her cyclone tempest have improved from time to time.
and I'm also On the Part with Luffy's fight with Lucci. |

I don't mind the art, its just too freaking long. I'm not going to watch 300+ episodes of that, especially when its nowhere near finished. I''ve read up to around volume 15 of the manga and someday I'll finish it. Maybe in a decade or so when it's finally finished and Viz starts re-releasing it in omnibus editions.

Yeah, I really love this series myself, art, story, characters, style and all. I do think it's going too far calling it one of the best anime series ever made, but definitely one of my favorites, right up there with Naruto and Bleach. I've never really cared about things like number of episodes or volumes or what have you so that never obviously bothered me, but I'd say if I had any problem with it at all, and it being a very minor problem, it would have to be how episodic and almost repetitive it's arcs are, but that's about it.
Currently I've been trying to catch up with the series up to where Funimation will start up they're dub and start watching that from there on, so I've actually only seen up to about 143, but I still have to say it's really quite the series. |

well me saying its the best anime ever is just my opinion i really do feel
it is the best.. it appeals to me that much.. yes its a shame people get turned off by the animation at first.. i was the same.. i was recommended this series.. the person knew alot about anime.. i gave him some preferences that i liked.. like adventure, shonen, fighting, drama, companionship and so on.. i asked him to recommend me an anime of that type.. because i didn't wanna get caught up to the latest bleach epis so i wantd an anime to watch.. he recommended me this anime.. one piece.. well at first as i always do i always go to google and type the anime to see some pictures.. read the plot.. to see if its cool.. well at first i was.. ehh.. iono about this.. but i downloaded the epis.. at first i was like "wow wtf is up with this animation? the guy with big eyes? looks like a farmer???" ok so i watched 10 more.. inside i was beginning to like it.. then up to episode 25.. i really liked it.. then later on it just hooked me.. up to the point id sign up to anime forums to talk about it.. i like it that much lol. i really like the art.. now that im used to it.. the anime just has its own style and atmosphere.. oh i dont mind how long the series is at all hahaha.. i never want it to end.. im sure alot of u probably had the feeling u never want something ending when u really got hooked by it.. the background music really appeals to me.. it really fits the anime.. some give me the adventurous feeling.. like there gonna pursue there dreams no matter what.. some give me the dramatic feeling.. wow this was a pretty long post

I love this show. Best anime ever made? Not sure. If we're talking about seris then yes its up there for me. I'm currently on episode 318. I love the fight scenes and just the 360 luffy's personality does depending on the situation. He's laid back most of the time but when he gets pissed- watch out! my favorite charcter in the show is Sanji (he's so cute. plus his fights are always-besides luffy's-jaw dropping.) spoiler[I love him because he doesn't have a devil fruit- but at the same time he uses just his power. The same could be said for some of the others- he does it without a weapon which makes it awesome] i hated the dub. I cried when i heard david moo as sanji. i think I might have gotten over it had he had his smokes- not the lollypops. I like David Moo too- but everytime I heard him speaking I wanted to just take Sanji out to pasture and put him out of his misery. The idea in general is really unquie- Pirates with fruit that gives you powers. The ships, the enemies....just everything. I want to read the manga one day but for now its too much. I hope it ends much later than that. I think if the manga keeps going at the pace it is now spoiler[he still doesn't have that musician he wanted] I say we've got another 300+ episodes to enjoy. *sorry if that doesn't make sense. I've got a raging headache |

well ya again just my opinion
yes i love how there mood changes.. most of the time they are all laid back.. yelling at each other and joking around.. then they can be really serious.. fighting for there nakama and there beliefs.. really this anime has it all.. adventure, drama, fighting, companionship, only thing id say is maybe romance? unless.. of course sanji's feelings towards nami and robin counts
im currently waiting for episode 320.. i haven't watched any of the movies until now.. i watched the first movie and the second.. unique indeed.. and pure creative. im not the guy whod enjoy reading mangas.. cause the music in the anime really really helps me.. it just sets the mood and everything. |

really? i understand.. well yes english is my 2nd languange but....
I've got to say something not to offend anyone or anything.. but dont we have rights on how we wish to talk? i mean like... freedom of speech. its just easier to talk this way.. and the main focus of forums was to converse with people.. to me how i see it is.. as long as the person understand what your trying to say is enough.. ill judge my own typing and i can say its pretty reasonable.. really i dont see why u need to spend time capitalizing and giving your best grammar if the point is to just get what your trying to say across and converse to people.. i mean these posts arent essays.. i just wanted to say that. and as a mod i wouldve suggested a pm instead of posting at a thread so it wouldnt be seen as off topic

I'm a huge One Piece fan, although more of the manga than the anime because it's a bit tighter (less filler, less stretching, etc.), and I almost always play as One Piece characters in games like Jump Ultimate Stars and Battle Stadium DON. The animated One Piece is pretty solid too though, better than D.Grey-Man or Naruto when it comes to filler and pacing at least.
Yeah, that's why Luffy's one of my favorite characters too. He doesn't take anything seriously and just has fun, but if you mess with his nakama or his dreams, he gets practically Batman serious. 
Just you wait. People are predicting that things might come to a head soon, in some big climactic mega-arc, but Oda apparently shows no signs of slowing down.
Don't worry about it too much, the mods are just really rude to people around here. You'll get used to it. |

sorry but firstly, its a private forum, so "freedom of speech" does not apply. If you want to post here you gotta follow whatever rules the owner of the forums chooses.
Secondly, its once again, not up to you to decide wether that is "enough". I personally completely agree with the rules to use proper grammar and spelling. It helps elevate the level of discussion. Nobody is asking you for an essay. People arent going to jump on you for even the slightest gramatical or spelling error. However to use decently proper spelling and avoid stupid abreviations isnt much to ask. If you really dont have time to do that, you probably dont have time to be posting on forums at all. /Off topic One Piece was an Anime I wanted to like. It seemed like a cool unusual concept. I watched the awful 4Kids version on TV for a bit. I assume the original Subbed is much better, but still, it didn't really grab my attention and overall seemed pretty silly, so I kinda lost interest and stopped watching it. |

Hmm, my first topic here in the forums was about One Piece, back in the days when 4Kids still had it. It's been a lot of relief since then and lo and behold Funi now has the rights, and they're even going to release uncut DVDs. The story has always been fun, and I hope that they can continue keeping it going, because I would hate to see it end abruptly.

i think its pretty evident theyll keep it going.. but yes i do hope they dont do something dumb and rush the ending or watever.. oda seems to be a devoted manga artist tho.
and ikillchicken anyone who starts as watching the dubbed version than the subbed will probably be discouraged the same as u.. you probably thought the subbed isnt much better.. the subbed version and the dubbed are not the same series they are completely different
anyway this thread is not to discuss the dubbed.. |

umm...first of all read the constitution. freedom of speach protects you from the govt. If you go into someones home or private property then start yelling obsenitys and they can't do anything about it that means your forcing your wil on theirs same with this. Private enitys can have whatever rules they want. Your the one infringing on there rights saying you can do whatever you wan't on their private property.
Although we do have violations of freedom of speach in america like speach codes in coleges(pushed by the ACLU), the FCC, and soon the fairness act. |
