Needs a little bit of work on the landing, methinks.

The landings weren't the best, but the Flaptter's flights were super-awesome!

As an R&D engineer I am mightily impressed that he made this work with flapping wings!! I was expecting to see a fixed wing model with an added prop. However, lest someone hope for a version that someone can fly in, the weight on the model is so low that the wings would need to be >30 times the size while weighing only a few pounds and able to support about 200lb while beating at near 10 times per second. I'd bet even an aluminum honeycomb structure wouldn't hold together (i.e. ain't happening). Mythbusters tried a better engineered personal "helicopter" with dual ducted props and specialty light, high-output engine that didn't get "Buster" off the ground.

I wonder what Miyazaki would think of this, considering that he was likely not consulted on it (For the record, I identify as being someone who falls under a minimalist or abolitionist for intellectual property).
