It seems like Umehara is doing pretty well for himself as a newer seiyuu. This will be a great role for him.

Why does Black Jack look like such a girly man now? Seriously, anime needs to cut out the whole bishonen and moe crap already and for this go back to Osamu Dezaki's design.

I'd rather have ikemen Black Jack rather than bishounen but bishounen will do if I can't have my ikemen.

This is going to be a full length anime right? Right guys?

Hmm, I'm pretty sure it will be a full TV series.
I might also check out the original series a bit before this air.
Always had Black Jack under my radar for awhile but never seen the original show before.

Uh... Black Jack has always been a bit of a bishonen.
This is like when people complain Gundam characters have gotten to feminine when Char Aznable was a bishonen from day 1.

As really neat as it is seeing Kase and especially Takahashi involved in an old-school-meets-old-school project, I am a little cautious about the latter penning the series. He has certainly created, directed, and produced some great series, but he does not have as extensive a career as a screenwriter, with the episodes he penned in Gundam 0083 nearly sinking the show. Takahashi also has a penchant for mood-killing downer endings (some of which were still kinda "good", but really kicked things down a few notches). He is one of my favorite, still, but I'm not quite as enthusiastic as I should be…

You noticed that, too??? I reckon the people of today thought it would be cooler/best if Black Jack had a more Doogie Howser approach instead of the House look.
I prefer House.

I'm interested in seeing this, but I've never seen/read the original Black Jack. Would I be able to go into this blind? How much prior knowledge is required?
