Oh good, it's a TV series. I hope it will be a 2 cour or something but it's nice to know about the series being TV rather than OVA.

Glad to hear it was officially announced finally! It's interesting that it's a TV series again and not OVAs, but it makes sense since its adapting 3 novels. It will probably be pretty long but I can't be certain how long unfortunately. I was liking the OVA format though, it's really better to watch whole arcs at a time.
Well it's now probably my most anticipated series for this year now!
I do have to wonder if this means they are skipping Koyomimonogatari though. It would have been a bit difficult to do anyway I imagine.

I wonder if Owarimonogatari is truly the last season of Bakemonogatari?

It shouldn't be. There is still at least one more novel to adapt, Zokuowarimonogatari, and they still need to do Kizumonogatari, and NisiOisin just announced a new novel relatively recently, Tsugimonogatari. And they said they would adapt all of them, so it shouldn't be over just yet.

Most likely not the "true final season", but the anime makes it seem like the end of Araragi's adventures. Maybe the "next season" will have a different protagonist.

So Tsukimonogatari's physical release is in September and we've got a new full series in the form of Owarimonogatari coming in October. I like how that works out, very neat and tidy.
Extremely hyped for this, I always look forward to more of the Monogatari Series getting the Shaft treatment. Really glad we got the conformation ages ago that everything was going to get adapted at some point.

Isn't Nisio Isin working on Tsugimonogatari, the next installation?

Maybe it'll be a 2-cour show.

I still want to know hat happened to Kizumonogatari, clearly the show is very popular, so I can't see there being issues with money.

@MarshalBanana.
Considering it's going to be a film adaptation Shaft may want/be planning to do something special with it, but haven't quite come to a decision yet. It's not like it will get unceremoniously dumped or anything, they're just in no rush to get it out. Kizumonogatari is a prequel after all, so they may even end up leaving it till last.

It was only a matter of time before this announcement was made official.
Still waiting for the next volume to be released.

Well the novel's getting officially translated at least so you'll probably get to read it before Shaft gets to animate it
Really glad this is going to be done so soon. Hopefully it's a 2-cour adaptation and includes Zoku Owari, since it's also part of the "Final Season". I can imagine Koyomi being adapted as a series of OVA because of its short stories format.

I wonder if this actually will be the "final season" or if that's just a marketing thing. Personally, regardless of how popular a series is, I would keep it as the "final" or "last" (including remakes) if it has it in the title.
