And along the way became the most funded video game on Kickstarter history, flying past the previous record by a million and a half bucks.
T'was interesting watching Iga play Shantae: Half-Genie Hero on the Xbox controller during the live countdown feed on Twitch. And the floating Knight being voted as Miriam's familiar. |

The whole initial purpose of this Kickstarter wasn't to get money. Iga already has a private publisher who're 90% funding the game.
The purpose of the Kickstarter was to convince said publisher that there was DEMAND for this kind of game. Iga went to about 20 publishers before hand and they all pretty much turned him down. It was after the whole Mighty No. 9 thing that Iga suggested using a Kickstarter to show that there was actual demand when someone said "okay we'll try this". |
