He's got two teen daughters and knows about anime but not Miku?? That's what happens when you're a jazz fan; your other cultural tastes suffer. 
(And seriously, why do they keep pushing the auto-sales thing? We could let Bush Sr. slide with it, because it was the 80's, and most, including the Republicans, were completely ignorant of Japanese culture, and with that and the dinner thing, he sort of deserved to have all that happen to him. But thought we pretty much established back then that cars are not what you sell to Japan, if you want to get foreign trade jumpstarted: Not only is it selling coals to Newcastle, but Japan's crowded cities make car purchase a more prohibitively complicated process than in the US...Forget the pride issue, guys; give it up, and sell them something they need!!) |
