kinda sad to see announcements about a game from a game series we'll never see in the states because of one company that just won't die

But isn't the reason the costs of licensing? Except if you mean OG, then I understand, but that is due to too low interest, I guess... (Or perhaps yet another series ruined by the combo of "Late arrival + no advertising"?)

I think he/she is talking about Harmony Gold and their stranglehold they have on the Macross series here in the states and they will just not let it go. But yes what is really keeping this game from coming here to the states are a lot of these series rights are owned by different companies and how much it would cost to get the rights to use for this game. The only hope we can have is the OG series but the two games they sold on the GBA back in the day, which were amazing by the way, didn't sell that well so they just won't bring out any of the sequel OG games here to the states.

Yeah, it's truly a shame that almost all of the series are owned by different companies, the SRW games are really good SRPGs.
OG 1 & 2 are one of my favorite GBA games (Well, OG 2 got really weird with some portraits and their colors), but the truth is, with how long it took the games to come out of Japan, everyone "'interested" had already emulated them anyway, as it's one of these "J-Stars Victory VS." situations.
(And I don't know how they were advertised, but heck, I only found out two years ago that the GBA OGs were even localized in the first place...)
