Hmm, this looks odd....

Not sure if I'll like it but the concepts seems somewhat interesting? Guess we'll see next year.

Kinda wish they didn't just look like Precure clones.

Also it's a little hard to get excited about 'dark magical girl show with Murakami-inspired visuals!' these days, even if this time it actually is Murakami himself.

Plus I just...don't like the whole 2.5d thing happening in more and more anime lately. It just looks bad.

All that said I still want to see it.

I feel like the PV from 2013 will be unrelated to the series coming soon. And that was just a separate piece

There were some character designs released last December for a pixiv contest http://matsuri.pixiv.net/event/6hpcontest/ and they all have different designs than those in 2013

I hope the end product is more in-tune to a typical magical girl formula. Maybe I'm just being in denial though because I'd really like another nice magical girl show (for kids) that isn't Precure or Jewelpet.

First half of the PV is basically the 2004 TV show LOST's pilot episode (down to the "sucked into the still-working engine of the crashed airliner" bit), but then it goes a bit weird with some mahou shoujo elements.

Since this PV is about 2 years old, its relevance to the planned TV anime is unknown.

This CG looks horrible.
There, I said it. Makes it even worse that this is a magical girl show. Now we get to see naked 3D girls without nipples in all their glory, hooray... Neutral

Heartcatch Precure in CGI

That was my first impression.

You had me until CG…and perhaps Murakami…

The CG didn't look eye-peeling terrible, but I would have vastly preferred seeing mebae's designs in 2D, which are often great. Some of Murakami's work is not bad, but I have never been that impressed by him. He strikes me as one of those types of artists that mainstream art goes gaga over as a 'top artist' in their genre when they do nothing outright amazing or remarkable, or their work only plays into the inherent stereotypes of it in a superficial way (often to exaggerated lengths). I don't mean to crap on him like this, but there are more outstanding, and bold, artists out there than him. It wouldn't shock me if this gets way more attention than your average show, or what it may even deserve in the end…

To be honest, they kind of still do have them. It's in the vein of Princess Tutu's transformation sequence, but it's done in a more fetishistic way here spoiler[(and very tiredly so…)].

That promo wouldn't fly in Malaysia nowadays.
(And they don't look 14-yr-olds; that's why age is but a number in fiction - anybody could say what age you are.)

You will watch Zagtoon's "Ladybug", another Pretty Cure clone, this year. It's coming soon. Your thoughts?
