The Jast links are broken btw. The adult version is: http://www.jlist.com/product/jast006
and the all-ages version is presumably (? or at least the SFW landing page): http://www.jastusa.com/catalog/product/view/id/351 From their Steam greenlight page:

Interesting, it's the opposite of what Sekai Project is doing |

While I don't know why anyone would be interested in the all ages version if it's lets them get more sales and lets a bigger market maybe get interested in VNs. It's a very good thing.

Both companies are coming from different positions really, whereas JAST entered the 18+ market as their primary bread-and-butter since their inception a long time ago now, Sekai Project is more working around the "Steam" and thus "All Ages" model of distribution that companies like Hirameki International had originally tried to be a part of (except without doing all the DVD/BD-Game aspect that Japan still continues to partake in). It really is interesting to see that there are different, valid ways to tackle a market like this. It's off-topic, but it's also interesting to see all of the lessons that Sekai Project (may have unintentionally?) learned from how Hirameki ran their business. |

Steam is mainstream business, so they don't want no controversy that could result on them being shunned in establishments. |

I do find it interesting that a company might market a dating sim as more family-friendly when a parent might found out it was a porno game.
