I've recently been reading Korean manga also known as manhwa and I've stumbled across 2 superb pieces. An action, adventure called Shin Angyo Onshi and a romance, comedy, drama called Unbalance x Unbalance.
I'm just wondering if their are others out their who read Korean manga and out of those, if there's anyone who's read this 2 fantastic manhwa. |

I've never heard of about those two, but to be frank I haven't read a whole lot of manhwa (not that I don't like them, one of my favorite graphic novel is in fact Yureka or iD_eNTITY). But they do look very good actually and both are available from language I can read; Shin Angyo Onshi under the name of Le Nouvel Angyo Onshi from French publisher Pika Édition (the movie adaptation available from ADV Films apparently) and Unbalance x Unbalance from Infinity Studios (I just hope it won't be canceled like Café Occult). And from what I can read they also seem very interesting, actually, I think I'll buy some right now on Chapters.
Wow, for some reason I just felt the urge to buy. Anyway, I'll post my impressions once I received the books (Chapters is super fast after all). You can be proud of yourself kid. Ps: Yes I do buy a lot of things on fast first impression like this, not once have I regretted it (ok, most of the time). |

Who's releasing Shin Angyo Onshi and what's it about? Just the cover reminds me a little of Speed Grapher. Where did you get the cool pic for Unbalance X2?
I really enjoyed Unbalance X2, and the year wait for volume 2 is freaking killing me. Another title along those lines and not getting much attention is Let's be Perverts from Netcomics. Goofy comedy wise I like Banya the Explosive Deliveryman from Dark Horse. For feudal era style fighting with plenty of political intrigue, I like Shaman Warrior also from Dark Horse. And for good art that ends up being a cross between the story style of Banya and Shaman Warrior (but not as good as either) there's Archlord from Tokyopop. I think Archlord is the only one reviewed here at ANN, but I've reviewed some of these over at AOD. Here's links if you want to read more Let's be Perverts Unbalance Unbalance Archlord |

Those manhwa all seem interesting and you did pretty good reviews on them, so I might check them out in the near future... if possible. As for Unbalance x2, the picture up there is from the cover of Volume 2, Chapter 13 and that's the point in which there's a huge development in the story and it's something you'd never expect to happen. I'm already upto Volume 6 (most people would know how) and I can say that the story does get very dramatic and not the usual cliche kind of drama. I've got to point out that what you currently think of Jin-Ho will completely change once you reach Volume 5... to be more precise Chapter 34 . |

Thanks. Yeah, I freaking love Unbalance X2 and Let's be Perverts and I keep trying to pimp them out so Infinity will get their crap together with the Unbalance X2 releases |

I have read a few manhwa titles, and I have enjoyed them very much. I am currently reading Faeries Landing, Neck and Neck, President Dad, and The Queen's Knight. They are all very good stories with great characters and beautiful art. The are quasi romance stories, with other plots woven in as well. It's also a plus that they are sold in western reading format. It sucks that the Barnes and Nobles around here do not carry Korean titles with their Manga.
I have also read Honey Mustard. While it is a very, very good story, I cannot say that I recommend it because the author dropped it after 4 volumes, so there is no ending to the story. Last edited by Torhu_San on Tue Jun 19, 2007 12:16 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I recently picked up the first volume of Unbalance x Unbalance because I thought it looked interesting. I haven't read it yet, but upon seeing this topic, I think I'll read it soon.

Well I'm sure you'll enjoy it Jedi General
Also I think that anime/manga fans over in America are so lucky to be able to be their favourite titles. Over here in the UK, it's incredibly hard to find decent manga and impossible to find any manhwa , which is why I have to resort to other methods of acquiring them. |

Here in Germany we got a lot of manhwas. The Korean Scene is wellknown here and there are many manhwas published the last time. For myself I only read little manhwas. But Redrum 327 was really great. I don't know wether it is published in the USA. The story is a psychothriller in the tradition of Hitchcock.

Basically the only manwha I've been reading is King of Hell and I gotta say its one of my most favortie mangas ever! . There isnt much difference between korean manga/manwha and regular manga besides the drawings might be a little bit different but besides that its all basically the same.
Also I was thinking of getting Unbalance x Unbalance does anyone know if its anygood? |

If your a fan of any kind of romance manga/anime then you should definitely read it. I've read upto the end of Volume 5 and it's great so far with so much potential of getting better. It's like a mix between Koi Kaze and Ichigo 100% however there are love triangles all over the place and the male protagonist is a real badass. |

I liked the first volume of Unbalance x Unbalance. Another serires I liked was Model, an interesting take on the "vampire" genre. I personally don't collect manwha but I check a lot of it out at the Schaumburg Library. They have a very wide selection of comics. There's a few other series I enjoyed but the names escape me at the moment.
Tokyopop released the first 3 volumes. |

I really liked one published/being publish by Dark Horse, Shaman Warrior. The art is excellent and the story has me hooked so far.

I just finished reviewing XS Hybrid, released by Dark Horse this month, for AOD. The art is pretty good and there seems to be a lot of influence from Akira. The main character reminds me of Akira in both looks and the multiple chase scenes with him running from people on his street bike. This first volume sets up a lot of conflict and questions. I'll need a second volume to really decide how much I like it.
