Considering that he was beaten up by a bunch of bullies in the first chapter/episodes, its safe to assume he's a boy since no one would depict girls randomly getting beat up.

And thus, millions upon millions of internet-inhabitants are introduced to the existence of sarcasm.
I mean, really, I think it's a case of the creator saying Mikasa isn't particularly close to any girls, so when asked directly he picked Armin as her closest "female friend" because of his ambiguous looks and at-times emotionally sensitive outlook. Not because he's secretly been a girl this entire time.

Sarcasm is hard to pick up on with only text compared to something vocal, so it makes sense if people were confused. That said, I just thought he was joking or something. |

then this is the internet, so a lot of times you don't know if it's sarcasm or people are really that dumb, either knowing the person who posted or an extra visual cue are needed.
also, armin must have been quite a popular girl, considering she slept at thr boys' barracs. |

I agree with Marina on Armin being a guy so much that I feel he should have had a guy's voice in the Japanese. However, I feel that the Japanese Naruto voice is more suited for Armin than Marina's, who I feel was a serious casting mistake.

Except the ones who actually make the anime have very little to do with such products. Anime takes awhile to make. I'm gonna assume they didn't know how popular the series would be so no second srason was planned until after the first was finished. That said Armin is definitely a man. I'm almost positive this was a joke. |

Its obvious Armin is a girl, we just got explicit confirmation. You just need to judge her actions and mannerisms, so girlish!
Cant you see how madly in love he is with Eren? Cant wait for the eventual love triangle Eren-Mikasa-Armin, nice!! Who will Eren chose from the two girls?
