It's about these two kids and every episode they go to a new parallel universe where theres a theme. I haven't seen the series but its could be like, futuristic, B action movie, space, fairy tale, magical girl.
Like Excel Saga a little bit.

And it's very random... almost a pure manifestation of randomity, like flaming squirrels giving rulers to mystic Skittles in a vending machine at the space aquarium. (That didn't occur, just a random example of randomity)

Only the rogue Sour Skittles, which used their sour...crystal...things to improvise without chocolate. (Nestlé, of course)

Actually it has been licensed with the first dvd coming out on December 16th and the first episode came in this month's Newtype-Usa. I also think I heard somewhere that the manga was licensed as well. This is a really good series that I've been looking forward to for a while.

It's Gainax. No question that it will be a interesting show, that mnay will like, and a few will hate, some of those just cause they gotta hate Gainax.
Truth is it is like Excel saga, but with a real plot. The show is about a universe hopping pair of school kids, runing thru various universe seeking their way home, while one slowly releases why they left and why they haven't gotten back yet. The title comes from the shopping District that they view thruout the universes, where they meet alternate versions of everyone they know. Slowly, they also learn the history of the district, and learn how it relates to them.

this show is absolutely hillarious, probably tied with Excel Saga as the funniest anime ever, but unlike Excel Saga it's not completely drenched in fandom. even if you're not an anime fan, you'll be able to get most of the stuff.
americans will take to this one real quick, especially episode 12.

I read about this anime in the newtype-usa.
I just have one question what does that girl want who is always in every paralell universe that the two kids go into?

She wants to get a hold of Yutas, for reasons untold. Well, not really, but anything else would require spoilers....
