Are you sure? Because Blizzard is a publisher too. I'm assuming it's just a mistake since the #3 says "D3 Publisher".

Blizzard has like zero presence in Japan. They're mainly a PC company. Sometimes Japanese companies have to publish western games if they get released there. Square-Enix for Diablo, Nintendo for Rayman, etc.

No, Activision just licenses out their games to Japanese publishers. Square Enix handles Call of Duty in Japan too.

D3 is a publisher of low budget software like Earth Defense Force and Onechanbarra. They've even published those games here.
Square Enix publishes most of(if not all) Activision's games in Japan. They have a deal. Sqaure Enix actually has a rather long history of publishing western games in Japan.

It's worth noting SquareEnix publishes all their western games under their Extreme Edges violence lineup to separate it from their normal output.

Nobody expected those to help. The PS4 isn't going to rise until more Japanese games come out for it. As of now only about 6% of the 10 million PS4s sold were bought by the Japanese because Sony has pretty much snubbed their own market. The Playstation name might go down the same path as the Xbox name this generation for all we know.

I'd say it's more because the Japanese market has shifted to mobage and thus is becoming more and more irrelevant. Focusing on the the people that will actually buy the console is a smart thing by Sony.

First off, it's really stupid to compare Japan to every other country on the planet. Wish people would stop lumping in "the west" as one unanimous blob like it's fair to lump the entire planet VS Japan by itself.
Second WiiU has sold a lot more than the PS4 in Japan. If there's stuff on consoles, they'll still buy them.
