The script doesn't seem to be taking liberties, so that's good. But the voice acting is a little lax. I guess it'll do, though. Schemmel has made some progress over the years.

Schemmel(now) is not a terrible Goku, but it just stings that we can't get it just right. What does it say about the production as a whole when your lead isn't even up to par?

By what standards? I mean to me he sounds phenomenal (voice acting wise and not pitch matching wise). If you are comparing him to the Japanese counterpart. Know that that "version" is meant to the Japanese Speaking Audience and not the English Speaking Audience, I'm pretty sure DBZ would be a laughing stock if the English Dub Goku sounded like a constipated 7 year old Girl.

You don't understand what you are talking about. I'm not talking about the literal sound of Schemmel's voice. It's the characterization. The tone. The inflections. He doesn't do it right half of the time. Those are the "standards" I speak of; Goku's personality. I don't know what fool brought up "pitch matching," but no, absolutely no one who doesn't like Schemmel's Goku would list "doesn't sound like Masako Nozawa speaking English" as the reason why. Chris Sabat doesn't sound anything like Toshio Furukawa, and Sonny Strait doesn't sound like Mayumi Tanaka. And yet, Piccolo and Krillin, as characters, are captured near-perfectly in the dub. No one is hung up on the literal sounds as much as they are the actual acting.

actually he did freaking amazingly with acting and the Japanese Goku sucks i prefer the English Dub (Chris Sabat) since in Japanese he doesn't sound like a manly hero
