Why is it most game directors from back in the day can only make cellphone games or Kickstarter games? Does the modern game industry not like them anymore?

Each new generation of consoles offer more complexity to the programmers and artists and raises the costs of production. Without an EA or Squeenix behind them, it's probably hard for producers to compete in the console marketplace.
Also cellphone games seem to have taken Japan by storm. This article suggests gaming has been an important driver of cell adoption in Japan. |

What a disappointment, mobile gaming is in need of a quick and untimely death before it kills gaming over there.

If this turns out to be a full game without microtransaction bull, I will be pleased. If not, curse you mobile!
But I for one still have SOME faith in Sakaguchi. |
