Interesting that Aikatsu made it in the Top 5...
Perhaps the kids over in Japan are starting to develop an early interest for shows featuring idols? |

I heard somewhere that in Japan, Anpanman is the Japanese equivalent to Barney the Dinosaur. Given the info here, it looks like they were mistaken.

Thomas the Tank Engine is a real train in Japan.

That's no surprise. Idols are role models for young girls. Quite a few girls in primary school and junior high want to be idols if what my friend who teaches in Japan is anything to go by.
Yeah, I don't see how someone could compare Anpanman to Barney outside maybe popularity. Actually, is Barney still popular? |

Actually, is Barney still popular?[/quote] I was talking about how I heard that Anpanman is loved by the target audience and no one else, akin to Barney, and how the poll of parents' approval appears to disprove that. |

I'm not surprised about Anpanman.
I've seen a few episodes of it on YouTube and somehow I'M interested in it. Also, it sort of gave me an idea for a new franchise. Too bad it'll never fly over there. |
